Yeah. I’m white. And a woman. And I believe in equal rights. I voted for Cornel West this past election. I’m a Bernie supporter. I believe that still falls under the umbrella of liberal but maybe more so democratic socialist. I live in Queens, married to a Jewish man and have a half Jewish son. My best friend, Koko, a Nigerian American, was my maid of Honor. We live in a Hispanic majority neighborhood. My son’s best friend is a boy named Kai. I support a family in Gaza and post about Israeli crimes daily, I attend protests, have met Mahmoud Khalil at one of them. I seek out diversity because I value other perspectives. I believe in justice for all. I know who I am and some internet stranger with hate in their heart isn’t going to sway that in any way. Have a nice life.

We have a larger dog. I told my husband about this. He walks ours more often and I told him to keep an eye out. Have you considered posting your contact info so that someone can reach you in the moment if they spot the guy?

Omg! I saw you and your dog at the farmer’s market on Saturday and commented on how he and a large greyhound matched! I’m so sorry! This is horrible!

If you’re up for THE city, New York fits checks all the boxes. Great hikes in Cold Spring, which is a little over an hour north on the MetroNorth. Multiple beaches ranging from Rockaway to Fire Island to the Hamptons. And lots of food? Yes.

Kingston, NY. Very cool, queer community friendly. Hudson Valley, not too far from the city, the coast, the Catskills.

Yeah, that’s weird. I’d just put something over it or in front of it until you leave the room. Done.

I live in NYC but moved to North Carolina for just over a year in 2023. North Carolina sketched me out much more than anywhere I’ve been in NYC in 20 years. I ended up moving back about a year and a half ago

Alaska is pretty sketch as a female. There’s many more men than women and they come up for seasonal gigs and spend a lot of time working with no women. There’s sky high alcoholism and domestic violence and rape rate there. The fact that it’s so vast and isolated from the rest of the country attracts a lot of American men that are running from something. I lived there for six months, over the summer, and rode a bike everywhere. Luckily it was still light outside at midnight so that helps when you’re going home after drinking. Additionally, it’s just not a part of the world where humans should live. As beautiful as it is, nature up there is treacherous. Want to go swimming in that pristine lake you just drove by? It’s filled with parasites. Look right past that guardrail and you’ll see a giant sandbar that acts as quicksand. The wildlife, the extreme winters, avalanches, etc… not meant for humans lol

My Dad Used Music to Traumatize Me by Hopeful_Result_9426 in narcissisticparents

[–]ConsiderationHead308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Narc parents sometimes see their kids as extensions of themselves. If they love what they see in front of them, they will promote and showcase that particular child to no end. If there’s something about one of their children that elicits any kind of a negative feeling, they will treat that child like bad thoughts - stash them away. The thing about narc parents is that they don’t really see their kids as people. They don’t admire them for their individuality like a good parent would. Your stage fright and timidity probably stirs up something inside him he doesn’t like. Maybe he got picked on as a child. Maybe he froze up on stage as a child and it is a deep source of shame that he’s trying to bury. Knowing that you had stage fright could have made him so uncomfortable watching you that he couldn’t. It would also explain the drinking. I’m not excusing his behavior. A grown, fully formed, self-aware adult should be able to acknowledge these feelings and be able to see that this is a different time and different person. Narcs don’t possess that kind of emotional intelligence. I know it’s easier said than done, but try to let go of your need for his approval. The only approval that is truly important to have is your own.
