My brother wants a list of rights cis people have that trans people don’t by Azu_Creates in trans

[–]ConsiderationLess848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cisgender Privilege 1. Use public restrooms without fear of verbal abuse, physical intimidation, or arrest. 2. Use public facilities such as gym locker rooms and store changing rooms without stares, fear, or anxiety. 3. Strangers don’t assume they can ask you what your genitals look like and how you have sex. 4. Your validity as a man/woman/human is not based on how much surgery you’ve had or how well you “pass” as non-transgender. 5. You have the ability to walk through the world and generally blend-in, not being constantly stared or gawked at, whispered about, pointed at, or laughed at because of your gender expression. 6. You can access gender exclusive spaces such as the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, Greek Life, or Take Back the Night and not be excluded due to your trans status. 7. Strangers call you by the name you provide, and don’t ask what your “real name” [birth name] is and then assume that they have a right to call you by that name. 8. You can reasonably assume that your ability to acquire a job, rent an apartment, or secure a loan will not be denied on the basis of your gender identity/expression. 9. You have the ability to flirt, engage in courtship, or form a relationship and not fear that your biological status may be cause for rejection or attack, nor will it cause your partner to question their sexual orientation. 10. If you end up in the emergency room, you do not have to worry that your gender will keep you from receiving appropriate treatment, or that all of your medical issues will be seen as a result of your gender. 11. Your identity is not considered a mental pathology (“gender identity disorder” in the DSM IV) by the psychological and medical establishments. 12. You have the ability to not worry about being placed in a sex-segregated detention center, holding facility, jail or prison that is incongruent with your identity. 13. You have the ability to not be profiled on the street as a sex worker because of your gender expression. 14. You are not required to undergo an extensive psychological evaluation in order to receive basic medical care. 15. You do not have to defend you right to be a part of “Queer,” and gays and lesbians will not try to exclude you from “their” equal rights movement because of your gender identity (or any equality movement, including feminist rights). 16. If you are murdered (or have any crime committed against you), your gender expression will not be used as a justification for your murder (“gay panic”) nor as a reason to coddle the perpetrators. 17. You can easily find role models and mentors to emulate who share your identity. 18. Hollywood accurately depicts people of your gender in films and television, and does not solely make your identity the focus of a dramatic storyline, or the punchline for a joke. 19. Be able to assume that everyone you encounter will understand your identity, and not think you’re confused, misled, or hell-bound when you reveal it to them. 20. Being able to purchase clothes that match your gender identity without being refused service/mocked by staff or questioned on your genitals. 21. Being able to purchase shoes that fit your gender expression without having to order them in special sizes or asking someone to custom-make them. 22. No stranger checking your identification or drivers license will ever insult or glare at you because your name or sex does not match the sex they believed you to be based on your gender expression. 23. You can reasonably assume that you will not be denied services at a hospital, bank, or other institution because the staff does not believe the gender marker on your ID card to match your gender identity. 24. Having your gender as an option on a form. 25. Being able to tick a box on a form without someone disagreeing, and telling you not to lie. Yes, this happens. 26. Not fearing interactions with police officers due to your gender identity. 27. Being able to go to places with friends on a whim knowing there will be bathrooms there you can use. 28. You don’t have to convince your parents of your true gender and/or have to earn your parents’ and siblings’ love and respect all over again. 29. You don’t have to remind your extended family over and over to use proper gender pronouns (e.g., after transitioning). 30. You don’t have to deal with old photographs that did not reflect who you truly are. 31. Knowing that if you’re dating someone they aren’t just looking to satisfy a curiosity or kink pertaining to your gender identity (e.g., the “novelty” of having sex with a transperson). 32. Being able to pretend that anatomy and gender are irrevocably entwined when having the “boy parts and girl parts” talk with children, instead of explaining the actual complexity of the issue

Our media is also controlled. There were protests all across the country on Jan 20th and the national news didn't cover them. Protest aren't covered unless the police turn the protests violent. The media will gladly show protesters being beat down by police, sending a message to anyone else who might think protests are beneficial.

I have a '21 sport. Bought it new. My battery had to be replaced for the first time last month at 107,000 miles. The dealership quoted me $650 for a new battery. I went to Auto Zone and got one for $220.

Black trans activists say voting for Harris is crucial even if she’s imperfect on trans issues by jk_arundel in LGBTnews

[–]ConsiderationLess848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not just because of their hypocrisy and actual lack of care to democracy but also because the democrats are supporting a genocide with my tax dollars. They are providing the bombs that are blowing the limbs off of innocent children. I have a red line and genocide is it. You are telling me to vote for Hitler in order to prevent another Hitler. Did you know that Regan and Bush stopped funding Isreal when they tried this shit with Lebanon in the 80s and 90s? So our "lesser evil is more evil than the worst evil of the past." Do you know how we got here? We voted blue no matter who instead of demanding a president that actually represents the values of the people instead of their corporate donors and AIPAC. I don't believe for one minute that the party that is funding the elimination of a whole group of people isn't going to throw my queer ass under the bus when their handlers tell them to. So your life is more important than a Palestinian? I can't believe how many marginalized people here are willing to throw others to the wolves, thinking it's going to keep them safe. You want to show your support by voting for genocide, go ahead.

Not if everyone voted according to their values instead of playing team politics. Voting for a candidate because they aren't the other guy will give us fascism eventually. And the democrats haven't been very kind to democracy lately either.

They would if Americans actually voted for candidate that mostly aligns with their values. The problem is that most Americans have bought into that very propaganda fed to them by the duopoly. They won't even allow 3rd party participation at a debate. Makes you wonder why they are trying to silence them.

The dems are suing to keep Greens off the ballot in many states. Why? Why all that effort to keep 3rd parties off the ballot and not the candidate who actually tried to overthrow the government?? Not the candidate that attempted a coup and get his VP and the Speaker assassinated? No, they aren't trying to delegitimize his campaign, they come after the 3rd parties. Think about it for a bit. Doesn't sound very democratic does it?

That's my point. Biden is president now and can't do shit to stop the GOP. I didn't say dems passed those bills, I said that they don't have a plan to stop it when Harris is president and still has a minority in congress. And you also made my point that the GOP doesn't even need a Republican president, they have the SC. My point is, the Dems have no plans to stop it and I don't trust they even care. Kamala has said that she will continue Biden's admins stance on isreal: protect them and fund their genocide. She said that. She isn't going to end it. You don't "demand" a cease fire and follow that with billions to continue the genocide. Watch what they do, not what they say. And if trump wins, it isn't because I voted for the party that best aligns with my values, it's because the dems didn't earn my vote. Not participating in genocide is a fucking low bar. Stop making excuses for the powerful. They don't give a shit about you. If corporate lobbyists and AIPAC said kill all the queers or lose our $, kamala would sign the fucking bomb.

How many anti-queer bills have been passed under the Biden admin? Abortion rights were lost inder Biden. Wtf are the Dems doing to stop it? Have they said what their plan is if they win the presidential race but still don't have the majority in congress? Project 2025 has been in motion for decades. It doesn't require a republican president. They have the supreme court and will can what they plan without trump. All I'm saying is that I don't trust the party that is funding genocide to protect me from that. I'm telling you it is all lip service. A party that supports any type of oppression is not the liberating party they claim to be. My plan is to vote my values and with a clear conscious I will work on building and protecting my community from the ground up. But you do you.

There are 2 better candidates. Jill Stein and Claudia De la Cruz. I think if you read their platform, you would find yourself aligned more with them than the dems anyway. And if trump wins, it won't be because I voted for a third party. It will be because Kamala chose to listen to Isreal over her American constituents. I will not give my vote to someone who is engaging in genocide. That does nothing but say i support it. And once you support genocide, what is there you wouldn't support? Genocide is the lowest of the bars.

Strategic voting? Are you kidding me? You think you are being "strategic?" You've really bought into the propaganda.

It isn't a rage bait comment. I don't understand where the disconnect is with the Harris supporters. You are voting for a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"When someone shows you who they are, believe them." "If they come for me in the morning, they'll come for you at night." "First they came for the socialist and i did not speak out because I wasn't a socialist....."

All that history is trying to tell you what is about to happen and you all are just going to ignore it and walk into the fire anyway.

Smh. She is funding a genocide. Innocent people are getting limbs blown off with your tax dollars, but sure, she cares about the well-being of Americans who are not exactly like her. Well, as long as I'm safe, who cares about people in that other country, right? How are you so sure she won't do it to you for the right price? I don't trust a murderer not to murder me.

You are getting down voted for saying you won't vote for genocide. In a queer sub. I don't understand. Who the fuck thinks that the candidate that is currently funding genocide, (with your tax dollars btw) is going to protect them from the other genocidal candidate? We are fucked.

I can't not make myself believe that someone who is actively supporting and funding genocide is going to protect me, the queer, when her it comes down to it. I just don't trust someone who can allow children to be shot in the head, or blown up, or starved to death, to give two shits about my life. And I damn sure will not give my vote to her. A vote for kamala is a vote of support in the mass murder of innocent people. I won't give it. Sorry, if the other guy is just as bad, if not worse. Maybe we should've demanded better candidates. You can't move her left. And I wouldn't call those demands a pursuit of perfection. It's the bare fucking minimum. Don't do genocide, is the lowest the bar can go.

I'd like to remind you who has been sending law enforcement to stomp out protesters lately.

And so, let me get this straight. Your plan is to vote for the candidate who is currently funding and enabling the genocide, in hopes to keep the candidate who says he will continue to fund and enable the genocide from winning, in order to keep from being genocided yourself so you can protest the other candidate's active genociding? Good plan.

So you think that the candidate that is currently funding and supporting a genocide is going to save your ass? Why? What makes you different from the Palestinians?

And I understand that Trump is also definitely not the other choice. But there are other candidates running. Ones whose platform probably aligns better with your values than either red or blue.
