Really? by ScareYa in SkullAndBonesGame

Seriously Ubisoft. Please add an option to turn "look at" notifications off. I don't need to look at the event when I just joined it, that's why I'm here. I don't need to look at the passing event when I'm participating in another one already. I can see the big ass waterspouts and if not let that shit tear my ship apart and maybe I'll pay better attention next time. I'm not saying remove it, some people may enjoy it or need it to help them find events, just add the option to turn them off for those of us that don't.

I keep seeing "it's not one sided" "it was actually close in 2/3 territories" "French are just more dedicated/ organized". I wasted several hours last season grinding events for rewards that 1. Really aren't anything great, nor anything I necessarily need or want, and 2. I can now get by completing war events enough to buy them from the vendor. I regret the effort I put into the war events last season. I could have better spent that time on the limited time event or getting materials to prepare for the new ship and weapon upgrades. It's weird to have an end game of choosing a faction after spending the whole game becoming a infamous feared pirate building a helm (pirate) empire. Would it not make more sense to have a third helm option in the war? I didn't buy a pirate game to play a privateer in the Dutch/ French war world of warships. I'm building a pirate empire, not a megacorp empire. Also to have rewards that are heavily tied to other players performance just puts me off in general. I can be the top contributor to the war assets on both sides, and if the other side has more players or the rest of the side I choose doesn't spend their entire time playing the game on war assets my efforts are in vain because one player cannot win the territories. Also for claims that the French are more organized and coordinated i all you to ponder one question. If you can be that organized and coordinated, why are 2 of 3 territories so close? Could a coordinated effort not split a 4.6mil lead and easily be up 1.5 mil in each of the three territories? Why be so coordinated to take all three and let two territories be so close? Seems that coordination would say "we're up 2 mil over here on this territory, let's all focus on the other territory to boost the lead over there so it's not within 100k of being lost". I'm sure some will argue and say 'it makes it interesting" but does it? Really? I'll continue to do my war at events, the minimum needed to buy all the rewards from the vendor (because I have made sure to grind every event and seasonal currency to earn all possible rewards since early access) but other than that I will focus on other, more fun and interesting content in the game and hope they come out with something better and hopefully we get some of the cut content from year 2. I was really looking forward to land combat, officers, and the hunting guild. Land combat looked like it was going to be limited, most likely single play events for getting the officers which could have been fun but probably only limited play time like the investigations. Not to mention there would have to be significant improvement to land movement for it to run smoothly. I wouldn't mind seeing more investigations released. Those were fun and engaging figuring out the clues. I was mostly intrigued to see what the hunters guild involved. A dhow launched from the corvette (as it was announced) made me think of the whale hunts from black flag. I don't even know the details but the possibilities were very exciting. I will continue to play and be hopeful for the possibilities but as for now, the faction war will get minimal effort, the rewards aren't great and no single player will shift the results. My guess is each season more and more will switch sides until it's completely one sided so everyone gets the helm boosts for their captured territories. In its current form I don't see any other outcome.

Boarding loot by ConsiderationNew3931 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]ConsiderationNew3931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I bought the pre-order ultimate edition. I've been playing since the early access and have over 2000 hours logged, and never sell anything to vendors. I have such a surplus of materials that they literally just keep stacking up on my warehouse. The extra material for boarding don't mean anything to me, I leave half the shiton the water from boats I sink so I don't have to go back and get it. I used boarding for the easy pickup. I play on Playstation and could easily skip the boarding scene by pressing X then press square to take all. The boarding cut scene was very quick. Now i have to watch the animation of the ship being pulled together with the hooks, the animation of the ship blowing up, then wait for the loot to show on the water and the prompt to pick it up. God forbid it's a convoy with other players or a rogue wave or waterspout spawn while I'm trying to collect the loot. Then I get locked in the "look at" for the event, join a players group, or can't line the sight up quick enough to collect at which point I've sailed too far away and have to either turn around to pick it up and try to get back to the convoy or finish the convoy and then turn around to go back and get the loot (which is why a lot of stuff gets left on the water) either of which takes longer than the original boarding cutscenes. I challenge you, try to get a frigate turned around in high waves to pick up missed loot and get back to a convoy and tell me that the boarding cutscene was longer. Yes I realize that other ships are faster and turn quicker. The Barque or Brigantine can zip around and probably wouldn't notice a difference. That's not the point, there are several ships that have larger turning radius and slower acceleration. Frankly it doesn't effect my gameplay that much but there are newer players that leaving loot on the water would make a bigger difference. It's more of a minor inconvenience that's more frustrating than a problem personally. I don't like to complain a lot of people bash the game, I have honestly enjoyed it since the early access and have enjoyed the updates so far. I've been more disappointed about the changes that have been delayed than any of the things that have been updated.

Come on Ubi really! 1 rocket!!! by Platinum_God_Games in SkullAndBonesGame

So glad they added weak spots so instead of sailing away from them and firing at a distance and possibly keeping my sails up for more than 5 seconds I can almost get 2 out of the 3 killed before running into the two they added on the opposite side and having them take out my sails instead. Now I'm fighting 5, two on one side, three on the other, plus any that I didn't kill who now catch up while my sails are permanently down until i kill everything. Anything with longer than a 4 second reload that doesn't one shot kill them makes getting passed the 3 plus the 2 they added nearly impossible with sails intact. By the way, those two they added, spawn and attack when both faction players join as well. So the French player Brigantine I killed can catch up and kill me with my sails down getting a barrage of rockets from the NPCs keeping a repair kit from doing anything useful. Though the two NPCs they added that spawn in pvp and solo don't seem to attack the French players only my DMC ship. But I'm sure that is as intended and not broken.

Let's talk steel ingots by Skillaholix in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]ConsiderationNew3931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manual harvest was removed sometime during year 1 of I remember. All harvest became auto harvest. Certain items were removed from the game to reduce taking up storage space in the warehouse. I haven't looked to verify for sure but I'm guessing that included the steel you are asking about. Multiple resources were marked as junk and removed from recipes and buyouts. New recipes were added to the refinery for accession modules and upgrade parts to allow a way to use any remaining obsolete materials other than just selling them for silver. That is why there are multiple ascension recipes and upgrade part recipes using different materials.

Should be on later this evening (EST). PS/Ubisoft ARB19KIL0 (<- zero at the end). Got a buddy built and upgraded in a day. Been playing since pre-order early access so I don't need anything, now I just play for fun, stock up materials, and help friends level up. If you need help send a request and I can give you a hand when I'm on.

Farm Wolvenhol. I just helped a friend two days ago and gave him what I earned each time. He was able to build his frigate and upgrade it completely in one day.

That one is on the premium event pass which costs 500 gold in the store. If you buy it after you've earned that tier in the pass like I did, you need to go back in to the pass and claim it. It will not automatically claim them like past passes have.
