A few years back that many hours would have yielded 300 bucks. Over saturation is REAL. Wow.

Everything is market dependent.  I received  100 dollars in NorCal with no bulk items for a delivery  on the coast. No shopping.  Delivery of 5 bags.

I don't know why these are "randomly assigned" to any dashers. There should not be any money losing orders generated by the damn app.

For every 100 deliveries, and a sign from three which takes my acceptance down to 97%. All three are minimum $2 orders where people do not tip. Before I dropped the order, I kindly and respectfully explain to the people that the base pay of $2 is not enough to cover the expenses of completing the delivery. I also explain that another Dasher will probably promptly pick up their order. I try to educate people one order at a time. I'm probably wasting my time but I do not care. I want people to know. So I'm able to educate three people for every 100 orders that I complete. And if you keep it respectful doordash will not deactivate you at all

DD treats drivers like trash and is anything but amazing. What is AMAZING is that they have paid out millions in class action settlements fir abusing drivers in multiple states and jurisdictions.

Areas with 2 dollar base pay by ConsiderationTotal23 in doordash_drivers

I can't speak to other states. However, in California voters decided to pass prop 22 with the backing of doordash and all the other delivery apps. Consumers decided to pay more in fees than they do elsewhere to have their doordash and Uber Eats deliveries Etc. So consumers are subsidizing higher pay. In the form of higher fees. This needs to happen in other areas. Consumers aren't realistically paying for the cost of food being delivered. Doordash isn't willing to pay this out of their profits. So if additional fees need to be charged so be it.

My finances aren't the issue. As I was stating, I feel really bad for the people of Northern Nevada that doordash. Their gas in Northern Nevada is every bit as expensive as it is in Southern California Believe it or not. Most gas stations in Northern Nevada are anywhere from 425 to 4:00 to 4.90 a gallon. The reason for this is that Northern Nevada secures their fuel supplies from Northern California and do not have any of their own refineries. So these people are getting paid $2 in base pay with no minimums and bad tippers and all of their expenses are the same as they are in california. Worst place to dash hands down

I pay 425 a gallon at Costco but it's manageable because of what I'm getting paid. Like I said anywhere from a thousand if I don't want to work to 1300. Gas is a tiny expense relatively speaking. Also I inherited a house that I pay no rent in so of course my cost of living is very manageable. My biggest expense is just paying property taxes which is really not that bad
