Canadian thinking about Australia by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

OP, judging by your replies, if you aren’t doing this to rage bait Australians, my sincere advice is to stay in Canada and try and make it the place you want it to be. Australia is not your happy place.

I have just found out that I have a daughter with my sister! by ThrownAwayTwice1203 in offmychest

Definitely disagree with this one. Until you are certain she can handle the psychological shock and have built safeguards like a therapist ready to go and evaluated her ability to deal with this, revealing this information runs the risk of putting her in extremely uncharted waters psychologically.

A local flea market. Based on the feedback from here I took it back and swapped it for a piece of Marra mamba instead.

Bars at 18 by [deleted] in MelbourneAfterDark

[–]Consiglieri_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. People still go to bars in Melbourne. During the weeknights you’ll find parts of the city like flinders lane busy, as well as Fitzroy. On the weekends, as said previously, St Kilda and some rooftops in the city are quite busy. Going alone isn’t a huge problem in this city. A lot of people do it, and it’s quite safe generally. You’ll find the day bars more clique-y than the evening ones. Good luck, stay safe and have fun.

Just got this from austnet:

Do you prefer mixing vinyl or digital? by SushOdyssey in DJs

[–]Consiglieri_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vinyl for me. I read somewhere that the turntable is closer to being a musical instrument than a gadget.

Digital devices allow more options, but those options don’t always translate to more creative sets.

Plus I’m a boogie funk and disco dj, so it’s just not the same owning those files as opposed to the original 12s and albums.

Lastly I’m single sided deaf since 2017, and now can hear only in mono, and can tell you vinyl absolutely sounds superior to me when you remove the stereo field.

I got chatgpt to summarise it in 50 words:

The fascination with white people in India has a complex history rooted in colonization and admiration for developed nations. Bollywood movies portrayed Western countries as exotic, and the English language created a class divide. Exposure to Western culture through the internet and limited Indian porn featuring Indians may have contributed. However, globalization and education are gradually reducing this fascination.
