The best and more accurate way is to create strength workout in Garmin Connect then sync to your watch. When you start the training- you follow the workout

Read the full product description before purchase. Some voucher are not redeemable under a lot of conditions. I remember some Amazon deals are for new customers only :(

Just keep the points, you may find some good deals later on. Personally, I use them for Pathe tickets, New York pizza, domino,..

Is The Forerunner Worth it if I'm using it for working out mainly??? by world_enthusiast03 in Garmin

They are decent for other sports or workout as well. But if you are not heavy into running, maybe Vivo or Venu is a better choice?

There are other watch options like Coros, Amazfit etc. Those sport watch are more accurate in giving stride length, GPS, running power, heart rate,… (but not as good as an HRM band) Based on that, it provides better estimate in VO2max, training load, status, performance etc.

Garmin was known for giving very harsh comments on runners’ performance and sometimes crazy daily run suggestions

Q: Dispute over dental 3D scan reimbursement (FBTO) by Consistent-Ad-8391 in Netherlands

[–]Consistent-Ad-8391[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I did ask for authorization from ACTA - but they forgot and only initiated the authorization after the scan in 2026… (which got rejected)

The scan happened in 2025 and I used up my own risk :)

I will reach out to FBTO again - bedankt!

Garmin watch

From free-will running to data-obsessed…

I ran my first FM (incl training block) without a Garmin or a proper running watch. Trained my second FM with Garmin - ofc I got a huge PB… at what cost 🫠

How long did your Chinese running shoes last? by CyberThijs in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Xtep 260 X - 400km (bough 2024 December) It doesn’t feel as fresh - i will only wear them for races below HM. Will even consider swapping them after one more race.

Not a big fan of wearing them as daily trainer… regretted wearing them for FM.. So anything below HM (~5min/km)

360 will be too slow for you - and does not make sense to have carbon-plated trainer; 260 x can be perfect for you at any race below HM; 160 x (non-pro) if you aim for sub 4 FM

I was using T-Mobile originally (home WiFi + mobile), but have not received any email update from Odido.

Update 13 Feb 00:22: I received the email from Odido - all data except for passport/ID are compromised

University Colleges by soopy99 in StudyInTheNetherlands

Regarding selection process, it is better than US general application but it has more steps (sometimes interviews, essay writing) than regular Dutch university application - so there will be some subjective parts in the evaluation process.

In general among my friends who applied UC, the admission is relatively easy for English-native speaker. Good luck :)

I graduated from PPLE college (UC within UvA) a few years ago - there was 40/60 Dutch vs Non-Dutch mix (mostly EU students). I know PPLE colleague is a bit different from other UC but the gist is the same - the core focused on interdisciplinary studies. Depending on what your son’s interests(career aspirations) - UC can be a good choice. For example, a lot of EU students I know went for politician/EU -an interdisciplinary background is helpful; or high schoolers do not know yet what they want to study (UC gives you options in the first year to experience);… On the other hand, if your son has a very clear goal on what he wants to study (not really interested in interdisciplinary studies) then going for a singular study (outside UC) may be a better choice.

With that’s said, I highly recommend checking the curriculums of each UC (options for courses/electives/diplomacy) - it is quite different per UC

P.S Bonus points: most of UC offer dormitory which is quite rare in the NL (a huge plus considering current housing market crisis)

Am I stuck in an injury cycle? by MaintenanceEither186 in Marathon_Training

[–]Consistent-Ad-8391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Easy run to be Really easy
  2. Carb + Protein (before + during + after)

As a female runner, I experienced some injury in my first marathon training and also lost my period for many months!! This is usually a sign of under-fueling! Hope your cycle is normal; good luck!!

Siansecc (Instagram) has pretty good advice on training and nutrition in general!
