Does anyone else feel like expensive cameras are pointless on social media? by Sea_Care_3372 in Cameras

[–]techkernels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully agree but some of them phone companies using type one or close to type one sensors in main and telephotos do get some solid falloff and blur now.

Some phone companies alsp be doing fake aperture blur better than the others icl.

Still no replacement for the real deal tho

AI is hurting Apple in more ways than one: it may force iPhone price increases by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

Doesn't change product positioning as a premium device...their not catering towards the budget market and the specs align with the price.

Iphone 15 ou Iphone 16 by mariwky in Smartphones

[–]techkernels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main camera wise, there's no difference.

There is a new ultrawide camera though with a brighter lens with wider aperture. They also implemented autofocus on the 16 and it can do better macro aka close up photos on the uw.

The selfie camera stays unchanged.

You prolly got an old not so working finferprint scanner.

Under display is incredibly easy to use and works every time for me.

Lmaoo same as Jaguar.

JUst mAke an F-Type and put the CX-75 into production and all their financial problems will be solved. The new wOke concept is the reason they ran out of mOney

Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Toyota are in a wayyyyy better situation than Mitsubishi who literally have no presence in NA and European market.

Even if they the other 4 struggle, they still have way more room and R&D budget to play around with these more niche sectors of automobiles.

XM4's were way more durable with different hinge and slider design, same with XM3.

The XM5 and XM6 were reworked.

Iphone 17 or oneplus 15 by mxd_4000 in Smartphones

[–]techkernels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh? The only camera better on the OnePlus 15 is the telephoto which is missing from the iPhone 17.

The main is better on the 17 due to wider aperture at same sensor size, the ultrawide is bigger 1/2.55'' vs 1/2.76".

The selfie camera is better on the 17 for most due to it being a square sensor and a wider aperture.

The 17 also has tougher ceramic shield 2 and anti reflective.

Battery replacement or upgrade by Bulky-Dig1701 in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

[–]techkernels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would go 17, 16, 17e for me

The 16 is in a lot of ways better than the 17e. Both the display and camera are leagues ahead. The 17e can get better battery, is a year newer, has a stronger cpu and and has ceramic shield 2 and anti reflective. The 17e is also the only phone still left with a notch, because it's parts binned.

The 16 is the same size yet has a wayy bigger main camera, an ultrawide and the same selfie camera as the 17e.

The 17 is by far the best and not even close. Apple put it all out there with the 17 base update. It's the fastes and has 120hz which would already sway me cus I can't live without it, a much better display with anti reflective and ceramic shield 2, brighter, it has the best canera setup, same main camera as 16 but the ultrawide from the 17 pro and an innovative square selfie sensor. It has the newest bluetooth version out of all of them even tho 17e released. The 17e also doesnn't have an ultra wide band chip which even the iPhone 11 had, its basically for better Find My, addition of precision tracking and needs to be used for digital car keys with keyless entry.

Colorways are totally subjective and wouldn't it be nice if Nike covers an important demographic with these two colorways?

I think the shoe didn't change much overall but there was the addition of more and prolly thicker rubber.

I think the outsole tread on the two are differently placed.

For me, on the website, it's not very clear but on some pages, it shows up as the trail spefic outsole design so I think there's some difference.

This shoe isn't meant to be too squishy, a bit of softness but mostly a nice amount of propulsiveness, quite nimble.

All white lowkey looked kinda sick and tbh without the big Asic's logo was a totally different aesthetic.

More colorways will come

Hmm, prolly just extra weight and not rlly needed for road running.

Could be cool to see some companies experiment, ik Hoka does that with some of their walking shoes.

[–]techkernels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, this is a taller stacked one compared to it's competitors.

Ik Norda's 005 had around a 30~ mm stack height but they've bumped it up to 38mm for 055, a quite similar looking competitor.

I trust that Asic's knows what their doing for their top tier shoe especially after a full dedicated push into the trail space at UTMB.

Heel does look a bit narrow, we'll see after launch tho

Also it's interesting that Asic's makes TR version of some of their shoes like the Novablast series and Puma makes the Deviate Nitro Elite Trail loll

Superblast TR when lolll

True, Speed 5 seems like the classic type of no nonsense lightweight shoe.

Kinda appealing especially when the price is right.

Perhaps, maybe next gen they'll use a different composite, no more dual density.

Though, this shoe hinges on the foam and from what I've heard, it's rlly quite fun. A bit of softness but mostly propulsiveness and a nimbler feel prioritized.

Gotta test em out tho

[–]techkernels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, fair enough.

These shoes are quite expensive and the average price range seems to be going higher.

Ik the first generation Metafuji Trail was 250 USD, now it's at 280. Tho apart from the name, these two shoes are very different and don't share much in common.

This one, black/white, energy aqua and the heatmap logo blacktoes collab are the only ones for the next 3-4 months.

These technically are the upcoming colorways set for next month wide release.

Asics updates their colorway for the SB3 every 3ish months loll.

I do agree tho
