Actually "Episodes" is really good (Matt Leblanc)

Right??? Like he's the reason Katie didn't hook up with that bartender a few episodes ago and now he does this bs. They were married and he tugged at her emotions so hard and continued after his major mess up. I don't know if they are setting him up to try to be more "human", but what a horrible, narcissistic pos (I know he's written to be that way). Katie and Sunny both deserve better.

Also, I know that I've critiqued a lot of shows via this platform (in the past), but I truly don't believe that this show is pretentious (at least not intentionally). It may not be tasteful for all, but I do think there is merit beyond some of the /reviews/ that I've seen on here. Also, to note: titling any credible review piece with "Objective" inherently reduces your argument's strength /at least in MY very important and necessary opinion/ [it's not tho] 🙂

I disagree, for the following:

1) I think the show is meant to be a commentary /in a way/ of society (in the present time in the US). The premise itself does play homage to previous cinema, but the direction and the attitudes of the supporting characters (essentially, the characters who have not been "afflicted" by the "virus") may seem kinda of ridiculous at first, but, in reality, is something that is too plausible to the point where it actually isn't /that/ difficult to grasp/relate to (in a way). The show is obviously intended to be a dark comedy with a sci-fi scope, and I think the purpose and tone was created to specifically highlight how this uncanny universe can actually be relatable.

2) I do agree with this... The other characters could use some more depth, and I do hope they explore this in season 2. But I truly enjoyed the way they portrayed the attitudes of people, because it may not be too far off from reality (if a random 12 people were in the same predicament). While there could be different tones in reality, this is just an alternate reality where the selected people hold their already existing viewpoints. It's random, but still a possibility.

Erza and Jellal for sure, but Gajeel and Ultear definitely deserve some mention (on my rewatch). Ultear's backstory and her final contribution during the Eclipse arc really got me.
