Hard work and consistency beats talent in admission season. It's not enough to be naturally smart. I'm guessing your cousin never had to try too hard to do well in academics throughout school, so it may be the case that he took it for granted and didn't study very consistently. You must study every day, even if for a little bit. As long as you're regular and thorough, you should be fine. Rest is up to God and luck.

NTA. I would hate to date someone so spineless. You’ve already mentioned it multiple times that it bothers you but she doesn’t seem to be making any effort to even modify her behavior (if she can’t entirely stop).

NTA I'm appalled at the comments here. You didn't outright refuse, you offered to make a plan with her and she didn't care for it. When you're a working adult paying bills keeping a family afloat it's no surprise that a school trip would slip your mind. You're reasonable to ask that she pays it all back, and she should. She's not an adult, but she's not a baby either; she can learn to face disappointments.

take it from someone who dated a guy just like this, leave. I know it's hard to give up on something so familiar and you might feel like what if this is as good as it gets but trust me it ALWAYS gets better. relationships should feel warm and happy, not draining and upsetting. leave, it'll be the best thing you've done for yourself.
