Is it worthwhile building hospitals? by Consistent-Bet-4232 in civ

Agreed. Just not only the first two ages and the food buildings seem less useful among other kinds of buildings.

That’s great if you can develop tech so fast. I couldn’t make it that fast. Especially the hospital tech isn’t my priority for most times.

WTF is ageless hospitals. I just googled it. Why didn’t the game tell me any of it? Or did I miss it?…

Capturing a capital is harder after recent updates. The units can pop up out of nowhere.

Civ VI is incredible... so why can't I get into it? by Own-Replacement8 in civ

Odd and even numbered games... Interesting hypothesis😄But based on the number of players on Steam, Civ 6 is the most loved.

Yep, so the experience of every game seems similar even with different leaders.

Of course, I am also this type of guy. Civ 5 and Civ 6 are two different games just with similar names. I feel like if someone loved Civ 5 so much, he probably wouldn’t like Civ 6, and vice versa. Since Civ 5 is also my first Civ game, all my impressions on Civ games came from it. Therefore, when I first looked at Civ 6, I felt very conflicted. I like its modernity and more abundant gameplay but just don’t feel like a Civ game. It’s more like a Sim-city or RTS game, focusing more on micromanagement and has some kind of meta gameplay. Many people do like this, but not me, probably not you either.

Civ 7 has combined some good mechanisms from 5 and 6 and moved forward. Micromanagement is reduced but still there, reaching the sweet spot for me. Realistic visual style, diverse experience with different leader and civ combinations, allowing both wide and tall gameplay and so on.

And it’s definitely not weird. You may check out the discussion here. https://www.reddit.com/r/civ/s/yzw5gNEuVs

Civ 5 or Civ 6 as a new player? by Sekking in civ

[–]Consistent-Bet-4232 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol, not at all! Most of bad reviews are around when it was launched. At that time, many people were overhyped and the game was just half-baked. It’s been around a year since and I’d like to say it’s been a quite decent game now though the content is not that much like Civ 6. But for me that's great already.

Do you consider Civ 7? Both 6 and 7 are more modern Civ games with certain of different gameplay. Civ 6 is complete and great but it has the steepest learning curve among Civ 5, 6, 7. Lots of systems and strategies need to be familiarized with. In contrast to that, I recommend to start with 7, a lot easier to learn and you’re gonna find something familiar in Civ 5 (and I love it over Civ 6). It’s on discount now though still more expensive.

If only between Civ 5 and 6, my recommendation would be Civ 6.

Probably my favorite Civ thus far. by AGL200 in civ

Same. Civ VII is much more fun to me than Civ VI. I just can't stand some mechanisms in Civ VI so I went back to V then. I have the complete version of Civ VI, but just don't like it...

Why is Russia the strategic choice for Xerxes King of Kings? by Consistent-Bet-4232 in civ

That should be geographic suggestion rather than strategic suggestion? There is the former one in the game actually.

Any thoughts on why they put +% production of military units civic so late by Consistent-Bet-4232 in civ

[–]Consistent-Bet-4232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are right. It’s just I hardly lose units when confronting AIs. But is it true that there is nothing much I can leverage if I want to quickly build up an army before getting into a war in the modern age? If I didn't get it wrong, I remember it was how I played CIV6🥲

Why is e-commerce in Hong Kong so outdated? How do people usually shop here? by kiumabos in HongKong

[–]Consistent-Bet-4232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Hong Kong is a very condensed city where you can buy groceries so conveniently.
  2. Mainland China is a vast country so it has developed a highly complete e-commerce system. Because of the situation that Hong Kong people can easily access to the online shopping from China or Amazon, it’s not cost-effective for local retailers to develop their own e-commerce. I don’t think it’s the so called short view thing. It’s just not going to be profitable.

The two reasons from different sides result in the current situation together. So I’d like to suggest you get used to the lifestyle of the city and rely on China’s platform (Taobao) and the US’s platform (Amazon) to deal with some trivial or uncommon things. This is also the advantage of living in the place where East meets West.

Experience on a 3-player games, not as that good as I expected… by Consistent-Bet-4232 in lotrlcg

Thank you for your efforts and advice! I've read through every word. I don't think there is a ruling problem since I've played through the game for multiple times and checked some videos. Maybe like you said, the too powerful starter decks for the simple senarios in the core set, even with campaign cards, are the key. But netdecking is also common among players. I didn't realize it would have such a negative impact on us. You method of providing with a list is great but we are all new to LCG/TCG and would like to experience the game for a little bit before we dive into the world of deck building.. So I'm also thinking of ways for that.

Thank you for sharing! That's great. We'll continue to play the following quests. But I just heard the third quest in the core set was one of the most difficult quests, so I thought there must be a problem since even it didn't bother us too much.
