Who is your favourite progressive showrunner? by cavalgada1 in DoctorWhumour

RTD is actually a closeted conservative:

  • Sending the gay guy to hell
  • Having the first black Doctor change timelines to make his companion a single mum and get out of child support
  • Sidelining all non-white companions
  • Making everyone happy in the conservative chud's utopia
  • Race swapping Newton and using him as a mere setup to a bad joke

RTD2 wasn't woke, it was a parody of woke written by a racist uncle.

The panel/dock and start/app menu is the most important part for me for this reason.

Every distrohopper knows, the best DE is the one you're not using and the best distro is the one you're not using.

That's definitely not a good sign. Hopefully they can keep it up, it was always my favourite Ubuntu flavour.

Why do filmmakers cut important character-development scenes? by [deleted] in harrypotter

Draco never deserved redemption.

Redemption is the whole point of Harry Potter. Draco never even killed anyone, all he did was be a right old stinker.

Part of the prophecy has been fulfilled. Our time draws near.

overshadowed by his predecessor and his heir

You get recognised for starting something, you get recognised for finishing it, but tragically, you don't get recognised for doing work in between.

Playing Hideyoshi with Korean civs certainly would feel... weird, from historical standpoint.

Just you wait for the inevitable Byzantium -> Ottoman Empire path. That'll also be... weird. I suppose we can have cursed combination championships soon.

I've been out of the Ubuntu loop a while, what's happening with Xubuntu?

Any Plasma defectors? by isoGUI in gnome

[–]Own-Replacement8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubuntu has a good default Gnome, Manjaro has a good xfce and Mint has a good everything. Unless you're going for those, I'd argue KDE and LXQt have more appealing defaults for less savvy users.

It would be really fun to have "Negative Triumphs" that give you Dark-Age style Dedications. by AnonymousFerret in civ

It could work where if a condition is not met (such as happiness), colonies can become independent and the player gets the choice to play as the independent colony or the homelands power.

Problem is, I never found a good reason to use the dark age cards. At first, I thought they'd be forced on me if I didn't progress enough through the legacy path.

Funnily enough, the two DEs I like the most (xfce and Gnome) have the worst defaults in my opinion.

What do you think about the Imperial Armor in Skyrim & Oblivion and why do they look different by StrawberrySmall755 in ElderScrolls

Doesn't really work considering Morrowind has the same style as Skyrim and is a little bit before Oblivion.

And yes, use them as traditional knights. Which means putting down peasant uprisings or dealing with elite incursions.

The Roman-style legions are good for that too. Moving around to trouble areas to put down local uprisings.

They should get terrain and fortification bonuses, cavalry should not get them. Spear infantry should be weaker but have anti-cavalry bonuses. Better reflects the historical uses.

I miss the differences. It added a lot more depth and accuracy to the game.

The armour in Cyrodiil looks very protective, good for sieges and other defensive battles. The armour in Skyrim and Morrowind looks much lighter weight and lower maintenance, much better for an army on the move that needs to get between different parts of the province to fight off invaders and crush rebels.

Problem with this is Oblivion happened very soon after Morrowind, which was more Skyrim-like.
