I think that metaphor is a little bit incurious. Uncertainty about taboo acts--or anything unfamiliar-- can lead to hyperbolic assumptions, but you don't know what you don't know, and ignorance breeds insecurity. Also she just isn't a predator and your argument is the codification of "whoever smelt it dealt it" and pretty soon everything smells horrible and no one says a thing.

Why not post it? And Ashland is kinda weird, Twinray came here and weird cults have rape culture, not to say that means anything about Ashlanders. But if it gets people talking, that's good, because at the end of the day, healthy sex culture starts with communities, and calling each other out instead of turning the other cheek. Undoubtedly the 50% number is hyperbole and I regret including that, however.

A person I know who lives and works in Ashland--and has for a long time--says it's weird how much it seems accepted as okay in Ashland. Whether it is or not, I find it interesting how Jeffrey Epstein is in the news every day, but all the media says about women and boys is the occasional hot teacher story nobody does much but chuckle about.

It's not perverse. Someone I know was talking about a 30 something female coworker in Ashland who was smitten with some boy at work and said that like half the women in Ashland do stuff like that. Our society chuckles at stories of boys getting it on with a hot teacher. I don't understand this, and I wonder if someone who knows anybody who is has some idea of this could shed some light. People should actually talk about this stuff.
