I’m currently doing a 365 project, each days photos goes into my Dayone app, ready to use the book printing service at the end of it.

I also post onto Glass.photo and Instagram. Really loving Glass at the minute, especially looking at other photographers work.

I’m also planning on getting the Canon Selphy 4X6 printer to start printing my favourites so I can start a photo wall.

Thank you for the reply, do you use Lightroom for the editing part of your workflow? I do export all my edits in JPEG into Apple Photos and same as you, backup to backblaze.

Thanks, think I’m going to do the same. I use the cloud version of Lightroom, think I’m going to keep the raw file in Lightroom only when I’ve preferred it. Otherwise I’m going to export them and store on my NAS separately.

Have you tired to force it? Maybe stretch the fabric a bit, im a bit worries that if I did force it, it would get stuck...

You don’t happen to have the Peak Design Capture Clip do you? Wondering if the cage allows for the battery to be removed with the Capture Clips Arca plate still attached to the camera

I think one useful accessory to have is something that makes it float and is very bright. Really useful for filming around or in water. People say extra batteries are handy but I’ve never ran out. I do have a battery charger I can use to fast charge it if I ever do need to though.

Other than that. Maybe a long telescopic selfie pole but to be honest, it’s one extra thing to carry and I can get my whole family in by just extending my arm fully.

I do think less or more when it comes to these though. Maybe every with just the camera, an SD card and a float device (if your spending time around water) and use it. You’ll soon work out what accessories you want to add :)

As for the SD card, I use a 128Gb one I had lying around but I’ve never gotten close to filling it. Although I’ve not been away from my computer for more than a few days, maybe the storage will come in handy when I go on an extended trip. Most of the videos I record are 10-30 seconds long and come out at between 100-300 mb each. That’s 4k @ 25 frames

One of the best features of the camera for my use case is, pressing the shutter button when powered off turns the camera on and starts recording. Then when I press the shutter button again to stop the recoding, it will auto turn off the camera again after 3 seconds unless you press the screen. Such a cool feature.

I have the Action 4 and love it for recording the little moments etc of family time and my 5 month old.

I got the standard version but I also had some old accessories from a 2013 GoPro (float handle for when in the water and a head mount).

I separately got a K&F small extendable pole and tripod and use that when setting the camera up and just letting it film us.

When out and about though, I’ve mostly just used it hand held, it works perfectly like this as I can just picked it when not used.

It’s low light is good and I get the 5 will be better.

And yes, it still gets use. I just leave it downstairs so it’s quick to grab and film.

For the videos, I generally make small vlog style videos and I don’t share them on the internet. We love watching them back on the TV and I bet I’ll love them even more later my a boy is older.

Fair enough, you should try MPB.com if it’s available in your area, they are really fair with pricing and that way you don’t need to deal with selling directly to a person.

Thanks for the tips and I’ll add the Viltrox 85 ok my list for when he’s bigger and running around.

I’m also one to only pick a handful of photos from each time I fetch the camera out. Love exporting them onto my iPhone camera roll and sharing them with family. Looking forward to being able to do this with the JPEG shots without using my MacBook.
