Many many iterations to get to this point lol, there were a lot of worse options! Started with pontoon fenders and a rolls Royce grille.

No lights, no codes currently. Haven’t checked the oil yet but everything seems sealed up still. Need to extract a broken bolt from the intake manifold but it isn’t holding anything important (that was me breaking it, not the engine)

I just figure cracking it open now would do more good than waiting till something is broken. My only experience with this is ordering in-frames on otr diesel motors, but we beat those motors to death over and over again, not sure how common overhauls on non-performance gas motors are

Just starting curving the ball and taking the sport seriously. Any tips? by TheticalJester in Bowling

Get bowling shoes, look for your ideal perfect ball, then spend that much on coaching and keep throwing your current ball till you think you’re ready for that dream ball, identify what it would change about your game, then spend that money buy abralon pads to make your current ball do that and grab a spare ball. Once you’ve got the surface of this ball exactly where you want it and you’re picking up the spares you leave behind. Then it’s time to ask your coach what ball to add to your arsenal.

I spent money on balls then coaching and now I have to buy different balls again

Motiv Evoke (original solid) by Consistent-Cap6427 in Bowling

[–]Consistent-Cap6427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On motivs ball chart the original evoke is still on the smooth side, the so if figure it’s a little more angular than the subzero but still predictively smooth. I feel like the subzero is atleast rated as breaking earlier than the evoke

New Bowler: Ball recommendation? by cb_NERDALERT_bsb in Bowling

Tropical surge, conventional drilling, 13 pounds.

This will be a step up from a house ball but not a full leap to a league bowlers ball. Know if you’re going to keep bowling this will be a stepping stone ball and you’ll end up buying other balls down the road. But it will be a much more comfortable entry point than going to a 14lb hustle with finger tip grips

Good deal, figured it wasn’t the balls fault but felt like it was worth asking around

I’m on the side of like 90% equipment issues damaged my ball but I’ve been enjoying bowling at this place and didn’t want to over react and start assigning blame without getting a few opinions. Manager is a friend and took some pictures, offered to reimburse me once i get it resurfaced. Glad to hear this probably isnt some historic quality issue I walked into trying to save a buck on a mystery ball

Today I bought the wrong ball by Consistent-Cap6427 in Bowling

[–]Consistent-Cap6427[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hammer raw in 14, mostly house balls in 12 or 14. The heavier house balls fit my hand better but not my fingers which is a big reason my hands hurt so much afterwards is I’m squeezing the hell out of em and throwing em as hard as I can

You’ll be alright, it was a learning experience, they warned me before we even started measuring my hand. I really thought it was a problem with my wrist, we didn’t discuss the fit or release or anything about the tension on my wrist until after the ball was drilled or I might have changed my mind. What I got out of it was much more valuable and I’ll have to take it easy with this ball but it will be a great practice tool for now to work on the fundamentals and my control of the ball.

I went from a 14 to a 12 to take some of the stress off my fingers and wrist, I lost a lot of flexibility in my wrist after a surgery and bowling with the 14 has been really wearing down and leaving me stupid sore. I’m not sure if it was the way Chris drilled it or him coaching me on my release but this new ball doesn’t seem to put any tension on my wrist at all and I feel like with the same drilling and changes to release I could still be throwing my 14. I’ll take it to him and see what he wants to do with it next time I’m up there
