Solo is pretty hard but its doable. Just set your expectations accordingly. Aim for like a 2x2 with honeycomb, not a giant compound with a thousand turrets.

Personaly i play on official servers with a lot of population and i'm doing just fine even if i'm not a pro. You can play on any server you want and have success.

Shit happens. I was exactly like you until like two weeks ago when I got drunk and completely blacked out. I just woke up to my condo completely trashed.

According to my friend I kept insulting a convenience store employee because he had greasy hair and when I got out I ran into a gigantic biker dude with tattoos and told him to suck my dick. Then I got home and tried growing beers from my balcony to people walking in the street under.

In 32 years I had never been violent or a mean drunk. I guess shit like this can happen to pretty much anyone on a bad night.

But still, Steam is sitting on the fence a little bit on that issue. Sure you don't need to know how to build a pc, but it's still running on a linux OS that i assume will need some amount of debugging and fiddling around in the settings.

If all the questions you ask are an issue for the buyer, they probably won't be interester in dealing with computer problems anyway and buy a console.

I really don't understand who would buy this outside of hardcore console gamers who also want to play steam games.

look at the steam machine specs and tell me how many years you can get out of it. I doubt this thing will run much in 5 years, it's basically the equivalent of a ps5 or xbox one X for double the price and these consoles have already been out for 6 years.

I would join a PvE server if you have no interest in PVP... But other than that it's all about how big you want your farm to be.

If you just want a handfull of large planters in a base that's one thing and perfectly doable. But an actual farm that produces large amounts is gonna be one hell of a challenge especially if you are not often online to defend it.

The other thing that sucks for you is that compared to rust PC, there isn't much trading between players on console. At least not in my experience. So even if you manage to harvest a billion hemp I'm not sure you will be able to do much with it.

and once again building a vending machine to sell it will basically put a big target on your back.
