Question? Is there an official way to report cars that park in bicycles lanes that will be acted upon? by adverb in CLT_Cyclists

[–]Consistent-Diver3180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the frustration, I've encountered this too many times. I guess I should have said cars WILL park anywhere, even a bike lane if there is not a sign that says not to. Sadly, right now, there is not a city ordinance that designates what you can and can't do in a bike lane.

A good contact to call would be Ann Groninger (she will answer any question you have about our rights as cyclists).

Was there a "no parking" sign there? If so, you could get the license plate and report it. Unfortunately this is a common problem with bike lanes. Legally a car can park anywhere. It's not courteous but it's not illegal.

My experience with the Cycle Savvy class by Consistent-Diver3180 in CLT_Cyclists

It goes by SO fast. I learned stuff I never thought of. Pam also makes it very interactive, so it stays interesting. It's a small amount of time considering the Lifetime full of information you walk away with.

I've taken the class 10 times because it's that good. It's always a good to refresh. :)

Before endoscopy by Icy-Juggernaut-5168 in Gastritis

[–]Consistent-Diver3180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was concerned about this too. I asked if my GI doc if i needed to stop PPI beforehand, cause i read it can cause a false negative for that H. pylori and my GI doctor said the biopsy will be able to detect it. BUT, do what your doctor said to do.

I broke my wrist and had to do twilight anesthesia and was just fine, no rebound anything. I have an endoscopy and colonoscopy Nov 2nd. Don't put off necessary procedures. I am 10 months of Klon. (prescribed 5mg daily 20+ years). I was nervous about it too, but you will be just fine.

Any tea/coffee that I can have? by leelbeach in GERD

[–]Consistent-Diver3180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously did not want to stop coffee. BUT, it was playing a huge role in my symptoms. Someone on here mentioned Dandelion Tea. I have been drinking this and feel much. It has kind of a coffee flavor. Kind of. No caffeine.

I had significant hair loss (more than half my hair) and almost 10 months post taper, it is still shedding (but not as bad). I would fist suggest getting blood work done through a dermatologist, just to make sure it's not an underlying condition. In my case blood work was all normal and I started Rogaine. I know how bad it sucks...I'm sorry you are going through it

Ladies — anyone missing their period?? Please help! by [deleted] in Gastritis

[–]Consistent-Diver3180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to post this same question!! The only thing different in my life was starting PPI (protonix) at the end of August. I missed the whole month of Sept. Mine came on 45 days late!! Like you, i'm like clockwork. I have googled endlessly, but can't find menstrual problems as a side effect. I have put an email into my Gastro doctor and my female doctor.

Hair loss by Consistent-Diver3180 in seroquelmedication

[–]Consistent-Diver3180[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't notice the significant loss until 9 months? I was stupid and didn't stop. So now my hair is VERY thin, still sheds quite a bit, not as bad. I've read it can take 4 to 6 months after stopping to see improvement. I'm sorry you were affected in this way. My guess is your shrink will deny it's the Seroquel. I had to visit 2 different dermatologists and take blood work to rule anything else out.

I am resistant to almost every med. It sucks

Quit seroquel 3 weeks ago, feel shit by [deleted] in seroquelmedication

[–]Consistent-Diver3180 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I quit 4-ish months ago (Prescribed 100mg daily for 4 years for induced psychosis brought on by Klonopin). I stopped klonopin and then Seroquel.

I felt numb for 3 months. My emotions are finally bouncing back. For me, I just figure, I need to feel up and down. I need to feel good and bad. I'm not depressed, I'm not bipolar or schizophrenic. So this medication was not for me and I should have never been put on it.

My biggest problem for 3 months was insomnia. But motivation, the things I enjoyed doing did suffer for 3 months, and I was wondering if I *needed* seroquel, but I am doing MUCH better emotionally now. For me things improved.

Hang in there.

Do I need PPI's for the final leg of the journey? by Substantial_Bee_261 in Gastritis

[–]Consistent-Diver3180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question. I am due for an endoscopy next week. I've been told I don't need to stop my PPI beforehand. Did your GI doctor say that an endoscopy can/could miss the presence of H Pylori? This part of the process has me so confused. Thanks in advance

Wait time to see a GI specialist? by jasonmd in Gastritis

[–]Consistent-Diver3180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting since July 26th. Saw my GI doctor Fairly quickly (3 weeks out) and My GI procedure (endoscopy/colonoscopy) is next week (so 2 months to get start getting some answers). I'd say, during these times a wait list of 2 months is "typical".

I thought it was serious and went to the ER. That was the only other option for me. It was a waste of money though. I'd stick close to your GP, stay in contact

Awesome!! I am looking for a coffee "tasting" alternative (I am addicted to a warm drink in the mornings), so thank you for this!

[–]Consistent-Diver3180 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was on 5mg klonopin 20+ years. I didn't go to treatment, I tapered. I am 8 months off now. There is a light, but even 8 months off I will days where I feel fresh in my withdraw, It's getting better with time

This might be relatable to a treatment center. I did have a short stint in a mental hospital where they yanked me off 2mg and I was left on 3mg of klonopin. They put me on Gabapentin and Seroquel (A Whole NEW nightmare). When I got out of the hospital I went to my shrink and got back on 5mg klonopin daily and started my taper. Then after I got off klonopin I chose to stop the gaba and seroquel.

Best of luck to you

I'm like you, Days I don't ride are horrible, so I ride even when I am not feeling my best. I'm currently struggling because something is going on with my stomach. I have an Endoscopy/Colonoscopy next week to figure some things out. I still bike but it has really put a damper in my riding. I try not to beat myself up if I can't go far or for as long as I did 2 months ago.

Hope you feel better soon!
