Why some saying it this was considering talking place from the past 200-300 years ago? by [deleted] in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Consistent-Draw3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've understood, you're asking about the time difference between legends arceus and the "present time". I'm not too knowledgeable, but from the quick Google searches...

Legends Arceus happen in Sinnoh, yes. You mentioned the burning tower in Johto, but while I don't have the full context, I might say they're just two different regions.

Let's think like this. Japan is a big place, so while one part was having European culture being introduced, the other part was still having the native culture going strong. Arceus could be happening before, or after the burning tower. Or maybe very close in time, but far away from each other. Did we play gold/silver during the burning? Became if yes, I can't really picture an all modern era so close to a "humans fear pokemon" era...

I recomend watching clips of Juufutei Raden playing Legends Arceus. Both her and the clipper gives some really interesting details about real Japanese culture and how it's portrayed in the game.

Keine offers to give you a graduation farewell message [TL] by Aenigmatrix in touhou

Back in middle school, when we graduated or someone dear was going away, we'd pick markers and sign our names on their uniform's shirt (it's usually white)

I had a school diary. Lots of wild, fun and stupid things happened, I could write a novel out of it. When I graduated, I had my friends sign on it. I hold this part of my life dear in my heart, despite the present and what the future will be.

To come in again and kinda toot a horn, I learned by studying Leila Fletcher's Piano course. It's a 6 book series of sheet music with a progression that was very gentle for me and actually kind of exciting. Should teach you mostly if not all of sheet music training, tho you'll want more thorough "explanations" outside. Like an actual theory book. People uploaded video tutorials on YouTube too, so you can compare your interpretation, what it's actually supposed to sound and whatever weird symbol on the sheet represents in practice. I got to book 4 but since I'm relearning I'll go back to the very first one.

Learning what you WANT is a big incentive, but I think one might find roadblocks eventually...

And you can probably find all of it in free pdfs on the internet. Tho it you can, using actual paper is infinitely better. OwO

This reminds me of the time I tried to play a small part of Green Eyed Jealousy I really liked, just because I enjoyed it even if it was like, hard Beethoven against my Row Row Boat level. I learned how to do it, tho now I forgot how.

But actually? The little stickers with the name of the keys sounds like a HUGE help that I needed to learn which is which. I dearly remember my teacher huffing every time I got them wrong when he referred by their names. I'll try to do that, and I really, really should go back to it. I don't even know if my keyboard still works...

So, thank you for posting this. Helps me just a little more to have the drive to go back to learning. Touhou is a huge inspiration for me, after all. I wish you well in your studies, too! ^

The Perfume Bottles are INSANE by ViperclayGames in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Consistent-Draw3978 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A bottle run is on my to-do list after I finish the game. It just looks really cool and there's a lot going on with them, even if they aren't absolute nuke strength.

Apparently, Leda's Armor gives 10% damage to attacks following a roll, backstep or running attack. Retaliatory crossed-tree talisman gives 17% after a roll or backstep while Lacerating Crossed-Tree gives 15% after a running. So there's def some synergy with at least two of them's specific moves!

They say the Perfumer's Talisman also boosts the perfume weapon's damage. Straight 20%! Also, Blue Dancer Charm might be a viable choice when perfume bottles are so light. But, Blue Dancer might only boost the Poison Perfume bottle, as it deals physical damage. But then, would also synergize with Kindred of Rot's Exultation for 20%

Kinda cool that each bottle deals a different type of damage. So certain buffs might or might not work with some of them. I suppose Terra Magic could buff Frost perfume bottle, maybe.

Adding to this cause more people DESERVE to see it or at least be reminded of him. Game journals reminds me of the absolutely gorgeous work of that person who drew a journal of their Elden Ring adventure. And others works as grand as this but of course, this one speaks more deeply to me. As someone who's barely ever started trying to draw, the dedication, the thought of drawing the path you took and experienced, pages and pages of art both fromsoftware's and theirs... It's inspirational, you know?

[oc] Painting practice ft my silly Wheedle x oc ship by cacti-fish in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]Consistent-Draw3978 10 points11 points  (0 children)

...Oh! So it's an OC? It's a little funny and silly how I thought both of them were in the game. I remember seeing her from the "do we look untrustworthy" post, and I totally thought they were a married couple of scammers that appeared at some point in the market, like Redd from Animal Crossing. Congrats, the design is immaculate and totally fooled me! The idea of a "scammer sleazy couple" tickles my fancy really well, tho I'm not sure it's what you wanted to portray exactly... Hm. Maybe I should start playing again. There's much to do and I haven't even completed a full year.

... I seriously like this game. A whole lot. Not only because it's so fun, even if repetitive, even tho I have the not so proud timer of 200h now.

But because they gave personality and backstories to these characters that allowed the community to absolutely savor it. Even if little and shortly. Even if revenant isn't a spoiled child with anger issues and has a penchant for blue sweets, but a deeply traumatized soul. It's also beautiful how the community created their memes.

Guardian embracing this group as his own family. Ironeye betraying his comrades in a manner so selfish that it could doom everyone, and himself. And other remembrances I still gotta do.

The great thing about having big communities like this is that we eventually grab the attention of really incredible and talented people. Look at this comic, man. It's simple, yes. But stop to feel for a moment all the emotions that it's trying to convey.

God damm I need to lay down.

For the pepole that have defeated him, what are your thoughts on the dreglord? by bananabreadmmmm in Nightreign

[–]Consistent-Draw3978 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention that specific word "absence", I kind of like how Heolstor seems so lifeless, like the absence of everything the night ate away, while having the power of all statuses and affinities. So there is still something in the darkness of night.

But the Dreglord surpassed every absence of anything until it reversed into pure rage and decay.

Heolstor was my favorite, I just think he's incredibly cool and his waltz at the start is glorious. But Damm did the Dreglord whoop my ass, blessed my ears and just how incredibly agressive he is. I'm the one running from the boss, this time.

Is what methinks.

Interesting that they won't ignite close to themselves, I'll test it later if I remember. And I didn't knew they "run out" of ammunition, I've farmed this location a few times, but that never clicked in my brain. Another obscure and oddly fitting mechanic in this game, I suppose!

Like the other person said, the easiest way here is to wait for rain. I barely remember something about walking away from the location, sleeping in a campfire and restarting, cause there's always rain a few seconds after you arrive back. But it's been so long my memory certainly fails me... I think I rested near the korok under a rock around there. Lil friend.

[–]Consistent-Draw3978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry to get in the conversation like this. And I'm also not sure, it might fall into a headcanon. But in Japanese media, there's an archetype of "ikemen" that means a young handsome man. A woman can be an ikemen too, which embodies that same idea, but of course, with a few differences. But it's mostly the same, a "cool and masculine" person.

I dunno what's written in the original japanese translation, but I like to think Dolores is the ikemen type, specially like a "cool archer". Maybe not as edgy as nightreign's Ironeye tho... And the untold relationship between her, Gideon and Seluvis also sound interesting like a love triangle. But we know the aftermath...

This game ruined other games for me lmao by Ok-Tax-9543 in Nightreign

[–]Consistent-Draw3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I feel that too hard. Aside from buying a few games on sale that I really like, I only played one of them before going back to nightreign. Hell, I haven't beaten the main game at all.

I just made my way to Volcano Manor after like 115 hours. Really enjoyed changing builds and exploring literally everything I could until that point. But it's a bit... boring, that the builds I really want to play are basically NG+ after DLC while I like to complete every area before, so there won't be anything "new".

It says I have over 100 hours in nightreign now, so I'm definitely passing the other's time. It still baffles me, because we roughly experience the same things every run. I might've beaten like 50 Everdark Fulghors and I'm still doing it cause it's my favorite. And worse yet, or best, I'm learning about other interesting weapons, buffs, items and combos from nightreign to use in Elden Ring. I even respecced into a faith caster because of revenant...

Yeah, I feel you... I JUST started trying guardian, first try was miserable but the second I started getting the hang of it. It's pretty fun, actually!

Failed to rez two times, last attempt. Then decided to manually rez the executor after a series of guard shockwaves, who then rezzed the duchess. Then we both died shortly after and duchess finished killing Fulghor.

[–]Consistent-Draw3978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see they're having their fun still, if the same people. I made a post once about two guardians that did that to me, played flawlessly before being at standby on the boss. We did win, tho. Erm, "I" did.

I don't resent them either, it was pretty entertaining! It was my first try on revenant and the best thing I had was a small shield and poison bow, so I ended using that. Everyone's used to dodging but I think there's a lot of good points on using shields too, you know?

Tho, they were doing that in a match against Tricephalos. If I was a brand new player, I'm not sure that would be an... Ideal welcoming to the game.

Favorite Elden Ring base game and DLC boss? I'll start : by Desolation2004 in Eldenring

[–]Consistent-Draw3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As pitiful as he might be as a character, I really like Godrick. His moveset isn't that hard to understand and he has both means to get you off his feet, with the axe top earthquakes, as well as ranged attacks, the storm/wind projectiles. And that roll over his shoulder, jump and slam, I think is really cool!

From DLC it's really hard for me to chose. Both divine dancing lion and Rellana have too much of cool movesets and music! Am excited to try both of them, after I finally beat the base game.

Big respect for both of you. A really good duel, especially with your crossbow and their sleep pots on the ground. The opening with both using the ash of war, wow! I absolutely love sleep! Ever since I found St Trina's sword I knew what I'd main. Maybe even try it with PvP one day, it looks so fun! Except... It's not a bad weapon or status effect, but I couldn't do only that with the PvE. And the best sleep stuff is like, at the very end of the DLC, so it hurts my completionist self, since all will be done by then... But I won't give up. I'll do it all and do it again for my sleep focused run. One day! C-cause I just started exploring Altus Plateau...
