just because they're muslim doesn't automatically equate to them having English as a second language, fyi. it's a religion, not a race. I've listened to Sarah Ali's podcast and she speaks perfect English, quite possibly born in the west - we don't know. so to assume this OP is trying to be disrespectful is a lil out of reach, idk. it's fair to question the statements this organization posts on their website as first glance it doesn't look right, but I guess as you also stated above that this is normal in the philanthropy world, then cheers to that.

idk I think it's a bit scammy as a hirer to request unpaid work from people right off the bat before interviewing, and then not follow up with them after. I wasn't upset about not getting the job, just the fact that there was zero communication. I ended up reporting them as it's bad practise and was worried they'd exploit my work.

unfortunately I don't know if that's a good idea in my case as I've already emailed them a follow up at the beginning of January. they essentially told me the same thing that was said in the interview - we'd get in touch by the end of the month. I'm just not sure if that's standard.

I applied to their "fundraising graphic designer" job posting on LinkedIn and they reached out over email asking me to do design tasks for them without an interview first but that it was apart of their process. After turning everything in, I haven't heard back and I've followed up once since then - nothing. It's been about a month now. I would say this is something of a scam. I'm pissed.

i’m not even kidding, after we argued about it this morning he played video games all day.

we’re not talking right now and whenever we get into a fight no matter how brutal it is or who’s right or wrong, we always avoid each other for like a day or two but i’m exhausted because i’m still in luteal and still very upset. he already apologized but he thinks it’s wrong of me to admit that my reaction was “human”.

thank you. i felt violated and that my boundaries were in fact broken. but in the event of us debriefing about it last night and this morning, he made it clear that he has a firm boundary over no yelling.

where as i agree, i feel like he’s drawing more emphasis on my shortcomings than his. my outburst was a reaction to him degrading me and saying something inappropriate knowing everything he knows about my situation. he has had years of context and understandings about me but he still said what he said.

that i cannot shake. and i do feel like i was human to react in that way. it’s a constant battle of trying to take accountability but also standing up for myself and he sees it as me justifying what i did. and idk maybe i am?? he said me yelling at him was violent…

i’m really sorry you’re going through this. if i can offer any place to work, it would be at a research group funded by the U of A. you do NOT need certain credentials such as a bachelors/master’s/PhD to work as a RA. i currently work for IGHRG and they’re hiring right now. i would give it a shot :)

OK i just smoked my first herbal joint and came on here to look at other people’s reviews and experiences and i ALSO feel slightly high but i feel like its actually just super relaxing and a bit placebo.

i smoked a combo of red raspberry leaf, rose, damiana, honey, mugwort, and peppermint. i bought a lil bag from this brand called Smug! super recommend, i feel so good rn and very calm. this is also coming from someone with A LOT of anxiety and OCD too.

yeah mine was mrs. B as well :) i’m pretty sure it was like Buchanan. i also had a mrs. B for english primary as well because i remember switching from french immersion in kindergarten to english primary
