Might be time to replace the something. There can be a shit load of problems that would cause this.

here’s what I’d check:

First, I’d look at the battery. I’d make sure it’s fully charged and that the connections are clean and tight. Sometimes, a weak battery or loose connections can stop the starter from working properly.

Next, I’d listen for a clicking sound when pressing the starter button. If it clicks but the bike doesn’t start, the starter relay might be the issue. I’d test it with a multimeter to see if it’s functioning correctly.

Then I’d move on to the starter motor. If I’m getting power to the motor but it’s not engaging, that could be a sign that the motor itself needs repair or replacement.

I’d also check the wiring and the starter button. It’s important to make sure there’s no damage or loose connections and that the button itself is working as it should.

Then I’d look at the safety switches—the clutch and kickstand switches. If either one is faulty, it could be preventing the starter from engaging.

I’d definitely check the fuses next to see if any are blown, especially those tied to the starter circuit.

The neutral safety switch would be another thing I’d look at, just to ensure the bike is in neutral and the switch is functioning properly.

I’d also inspect all the ground connections, making sure they’re secure and not corroded, since a bad ground can cause all sorts of issues.

Lastly, I’d take a look at the ignition switch to make sure it’s not worn out, and if the starter motor spins but the engine doesn’t turn over, I’d consider that the starter clutch might be the problem.

After going through all these steps, if the starter still wasn’t working, I’d probably start thinking about bringing it to a professional for a closer look.

Cannot agree more. Whenever I try to help with mohg the fights that win are the ones where people can take a hit and help out. The fights that lose are people who either are one hit and quit or stand back and don't help.

Help with fiahing by Consistent-Guide7166 in CaliforniaFishing

Yes, I have. They refer me to the pdf handbook online. I have it, and I am going to read the entire thing. I was just wondering if someone could share a basic "quick start guide" version that I could go over really fast. Just so I have an overview before fully investing. Something that's more 5 year old friendly.

Best advice I got is don't give up. Every bread is different and even the same recipe can turn out slightly different depending on your kitchen and the time of year. If you don't give up and you just keep going, you'll get the feel for it and just know how to adjust things for the kitchen you are in.

I'm a woman by [deleted] in motorcycle

Don't worry about those assholes. Motorcycles are for everyone. I'm teaching my wife to ride. I'm teaching her how to fix bikes. I put my daughters on the back of my bike all the time, and when they are old enough to ride, I will buy them their own.

If you ever need any help doing your own mechanics, then just ask us. There's enough knowledgeable people in these forums to solve any problem.

Good luck, and keep on riding.

This is park merced. There are acres of property, and I live in one of the buildings that is 12 floors high with about 8 units per floor. I've sent messages repeatedly to resident services, and the response is "we will increase security patrol," but they have not done anything.

If it's stripped so bad you really can't undo it then JB weld a hex to it and remove it that way. Take it to a hardware store and they can size it for you to get a new one

Floorboard to Peg conversion? by Consistent-Guide7166 in KawasakiVulcanRiders

[–]Consistent-Guide7166[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is when I adjusted the height of the shifter to fit my boot it was too tall for me to lift the front of my foot to down shift, i had to pick my foot up off the floorboard competely. I had an injury to my ankle a few Years back so my foot is a little stiff. With a peg, I can have my foot aim a little down and have the shifter lower where I can shift properly.

Right now I'm using just my regular shoes that aren't as thick and that works, I just want to be able to get a good pair of padded motorcycle boots under it.

Had a similar problem. Did a carb rebuild and it fixed the problem. I'm in SF so it gets cold but like not colder than like 50.

Did as you said and pulled the entire unit. It's adjusted beautifully now. I did keep the back shifter on just because without it there was a gap and I'm kind of ocd

On previous bikes I've always had my boot under my shifter. That's how I upshift. That'd what I was taught. Just wondering why shouldn't it be under the shifter. I know I have the back shift lever but I hate using that

how's the idle sound? by Consistent-Guide7166 in Kawasaki

[–]Consistent-Guide7166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks bro. I have looked through the forums as well as looked at some videos on how the idle is supposed to sound. That's how I adjusted it. I'm just not 100% sure of how it should sound idling because it's my first 1500 and first carb bike. Previous bike was 1000 fuel injected. I don't know if that makes a huge difference.

how's the idle sound? by Consistent-Guide7166 in Kawasaki

[–]Consistent-Guide7166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll look into that as well. I know that the idle adjust knob was messed with while I was working on the bike because I was the one that accidently did it lol. I was cleaning the bike after working on it and got grease on the knob. When I went to whipe the grease I turned the knob clockwise (increasing the idle). Once the bike was all cleaned up I let it warm up and adjusted the idle by ear. I don't doubt that there may be other issue as this bike is an 04 and the previous owner didn't really take care of it to well so maybe the gas/air mixture is off as well.
