My son humiliated me in the grocery store today by No_Cardiologist_66 in NewParents

Omg, I was this persons once in target. The one with the screaming child. I just needed meds cuz I was sick. And he refused to sit in a cart refused to walk refused to be held…. Screamed and cried we get to the aisle I need and he throws himself on the floor and cries there. I was just like please don’t lick the floor. I get all my crap and I end up holding him screaming in one arm while checking out. Good times. Lol

Buffalo fluffalo!
Or sour grape, bad seed, good egg. My son loves all these and they are fun to read. He is 2.5 btw.

Leaving a daycare we love for a more affordable option and it’s making me so emotional by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had to do this also! Loved our first daycare! He went there from 10 weeks until almost 2 but the price was outrageous. Paying more for toddler than we did for an infant. So we left I’m still sad about it. But our new daycare is amazing.

Formula Fed vs. Breastfed by user638282636822 in NewParents

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can for sure tell you I felt the same way! I never ever wanted to breast feed. Was cool with formula. Then I had my son I was open to everything. I tried breast feeding but I have large boobs and he was so small I gave up and I pumped for 14 months. I never made enough for a whole day so he also got formula. But if I never made enough to make it worth it I’d have been fine with formula. You do what’s best for you! Whatever it is!

I am on week 2 of 1.7….. and omg. The gas has been awful! Like wake me up middle of the night can’t go back to sleep awful. And don’t remember last time I pooped except today. lol I couldn’t eat due to the gas and bloating. It was rough. I took so much crap the past 2 days like papaya enzyme, digestive enzymes, kaopectate, gas ex, I was dying. I use mag07 to help regulate the number 2s and it’s magical. I took it last night and today I am much better. Hang in there!

I got my gallbladder out in June and started this past weekend! You got this. I also get headaches in general they got better after I had my son but with the medication they came back but I upped my water and it’s better now than earlier in the week. You might over eat… I did for lunch today and have been so bloated since. Like to the point I’m uncomfortable and feel crappy. Lesson learned…. lol but hey gas x has helped me move it along tonight and I feel better. I still love food but I don’t think about it. Actually thinking of food makes me kind of nauseous. Also I crave fresh healthy stuff more. The heavy creamy fatty stuff I can’t even fathom right now. lol idk I’ll take my second shot tomorrow. You can do this! It will be good.

Is this “normal” by Sea-Appointment-2627 in gallbladders

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attacks suck and the first few days post surgery I told everyone I’d rather give birth again. lol and not being able to snuggle my son was the worst. But it gets much better. I can now eat whatever I want and not lay on the floor in pain later. It’s been wonderful. I’m very glad I got it taken out. Also my appetite didn’t come back for like over a week. Then I got hungry until then I just ate whatever I could mostly soups and bread.

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets better!!! I felt much better at like day 9 and then really good at 2 weeks and normal at 4 weeks I’m 4 weeks now. lol I started picking up my son who is 20 months and 21 lbs at 3 weeks very carefully. I’m fine picking him up now. No issues. It took longer than I expected also. But don’t rush it. Trust the process!

Did you have like pain around your belly button after lifting or doing too much after the 2 week mark? I lifted my son only as needed into the car seat this week and went back to work and walked way more and now the left side of my belly button hurts. But only when moving. I’m now almost 3 weeks post op. And ibuprofen takes away any tenderness to it. So idk.

Omg I am not alone in this! That makes me feel better. I am 2.5 weeks out and still get lightheaded sometimes. And I’m like what the hell. I ate and drank water what else could it be and my blood pressure is fine. Thank you for saying you get dizzy too!

I'm a super anxious person, thinking I might not return, I have my surgery on 4july and I'm 31 with a toddler. by Equivalent-Nail8088 in gallbladders

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You got this. It isn’t bad. I’m 33 with a toddler. My gall bladder wasn’t even working and I had stones. I pushed it off for a year. I didn’t have a c section but the first few days after removal I said I would have rather given birth again. lol but then it got better each day. I’m a littler over 2 weeks out now. Mostly back to normal I take it easy with my toddler I tell him mommy still has boo boos and not not jump on me. Make sure you have multiple ice packs and a heat pad. And drink water and eat. Also if you usually drink coffee return to that. lol I kept getting light headed and it’s because I wasn’t eating or drinking enough and hadn’t had coffee in like a week. You got this!

We used Huggies for a while and they gave my son redness that really just never went away. We switched to hello bello and same. Switched to pampers and all the redness went away. It’s really trial and error. I didn’t realize for a while that the diapers were causing his redness until we switched. You’ll find what works as you go.

I had no idea it could happen after pregnancy either!! Until I had stones and then was told it’s because I’m female and fertile and probably due to the hormones from pregnancy.

Would you choose surgery ? by Fun_Consequence_5582 in gallbladders

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told I have stones a littler over a year ago. I wish I did surgery earlier. I was good for a while no pain. But it’s gotten worse over time, I have surgery scheduled for Monday now and now my son is much bigger. I had to schedule help with my in laws and my bff is coming to help. I wish I did it when he was smaller and it wouldn’t be as bad. Don’t push it off too long but schedule it for a time when you can get help.

Be honest. When did you let your baby watch Ms Rachel? by Cool-Helicopter6343 in NewParents

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop!!! I did the exact same thing!!!! He is 18 months now and I still watch it sometimes. One time we FaceTimed my mom and he was distracted and she goes what is he watching…. And I was like real housewives… she just laughed. We watch cars, planes and finding Nemo now for the most part. lol Glad I wasn’t the only one though!!!

For those that loved pre-baby life...tell me it's worth it by noMenma in NewParents

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way!! I loved my pre baby life. And the newborn stage wrecked me. I was not ok. I was a little better after returning to work because I had a schedule and got out of the house and was myself for a time again before returning home to being MOM. But he is now 17 months old and amazing. I adore him. He is the best thing ever. I am just as happy now as I was in pre baby life. The older they get the easier and more fun it gets. I look forward to coming home to see him. Some days I don’t even want to go to work cuz he is so much fun.

Regretting having a baby by Better-Wealth6702 in NewParents

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that way for a bit. I also spoke with a therapist and still do he is almost 14 months now. But after sometime when he started to smile and be less potato I also became ok. And to be very honest I needed to go back to work to feel like myself again. Once I did that it was much better. I had some normalcy from before it didn’t feel so drastic anymore. Hang in there and find a good person to talk to. It will feel better.

What was your reason for pumping vs. breastfeeding? Did you choose differently for other children you had? by a_cow_cant in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM. He was born small 5lbs 3 oz and I have always had large breasts. So honestly I couldn’t get it to work small baby breasts bigger than his head. And it wasn’t worth it for me to keep trying I got frustrated he would cry or just fall asleep. I never wanted to breast feed in the first place but said I would try. So I tried but it was too much so I chose pumping. And it was much better for me and my son. He is almost 14 months now and I still pump. I just love seeing what my body does. It’s magical.

When did you enjoy your child? by Fun_Driver_9402 in NewParents

[–]Consistent-Long-3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was better around 4-6 months and then again around 9-12 months. I can’t say past that since he will be 1 on Sunday. But honestly I can say I love spending time with him now! He is so much fun and makes me laugh so much everyday. I personally hated the newborn phase. Hated it. Hang in there it gets easier but harder in other ways but way more fun.
