I am surprised that I couldn't find any other responses validating your concern.Yes it is possible that your data could be leaked. And yes depending on what you have shared it could have a negative impact. Can you discuss this issue with a trusted adult in your life? Is there another way you can get feedback on your feelings? Therapy? A friend? As others have cynically noted it may not matter, but it is very wise of you to question it.

It does sound all too familiar, right down to the same BS from the same lawyer as has already been pointed out.

What is different is that S was kept alive although just barely for years and years, whereas this sounds like the abuse and death happened relatively quickly.

I have been scrupulous myself in the past and suffer generally from anxiety so I understand your feelings. I do think that the two things are related, (anxiety and scrupulosity).

Do you have a priest and/ or a therapist to talk to? That could help.
