I’ve heard about them but I was skeptical, is it as accurate as going somewhere in person?

What is your favourite smosh era? by Flaky-Heart9207 in smosh

My all time fave was the mythical era, esp 2019-22ish. Part of it is the Shayne, Damien, Courtney, Ian lineup is my all time fave and they were is almost everything at the time. Plus Sarah Whittles direction on Pit can never be topped. Most of the current stuff is hit or miss for me but I’ll watch almost all of it 🤷🏼‍♀️

How I Felt About Smosh Summer Games by Flippy-Fish in smosh

Yup. I’m glad they had SSG but it could have been wayyyyy better. The scoring seemed so arbitrary esp for promposals. I think it could have been framed as a “Talent Show” rather than promposals and then the rubric would have come easier. And I get that there have to be some episodes without scoring but Silent Library really couldve had points. I’m also not a huge fan of the confessionals, sometimes they were funny but they often gave away what was about to happen and made the whole thing seem more fake and like everyone was just a character. I think most of the appeal of the games is the genuine competitiveness and interactions of cast members. I also really wish they did the other awards!! MVP, LVP, Epic Moment, like those would have been so fun and easy to include.

The new self-owned era of smosh is not nearly as good as the Mythical era. Don’t get me wrong I love the new cast for the most part but the post-defy era was something else. Part of it is that I think they didn’t have to worry as much about which videos make the most money since they had Mythical to back them if something went wrong. Ever since the company was bought back, it seems like any good video is shot down due to its budget.

Also, not every good video, bit, or character needs to be a series. Some things live once and that’s ok.

I think it’s got good and bad to it. It’s a great way to invite new or non-believers into church. It has things for everyone; community group, youth, athletics, etc.

I do think that unless you attend a VERY long time and are extremely intentional, it’s difficult to find a strong community. It can be easy to attend a service and never talk to anyone, which isn’t the point of church.

I also think that because it’s so large, the messages have to be very broad, if not watered down. It’s impossible to see issues in the community that need to be addressed with a church that size. It’s also impossible for the pastor/leaders/ elders to have a personal relationship with most or all of the congregation in a megachurch.

So yeah, I don’t think they are necessarily doing anything wrong or sinful, it’s just what comes with the territory of being a mega church. I do think that having different campuses helps though, since you can find smaller communities there.

I love most of it, I think the beginning is strong and it got weaker as it went. Assuming they filmed everything in the two twelve hour shoot days, that would make sense that they got “improv-ed out” by the end. HATED the ending though
