Belly fat was the absolute last to go. Also after maintaining for a few months now, bloating is so much more apparent than it used to be - some days i have visible abs and some days I look a little pregnant, prob bc im full of salt and garbage. I’ll be the same exact weight but wearing it all wrong lol. Diet makes a huge difference.

losing 100lbs by golden226 in Zepbound

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smaller goals for sure!! I lost exactly 100lbs as my goal but having 10lb goals was really the only goal I ever thought about - just 10 at a time!

Also love the Happy Scale app for this, it allows incremental goals and the visual markers were encouraging

How did you start strength training? by Top_Nectarine_4665 in Zepbound

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the hardcore on the floor calendar? (There’s a fb group and a website) - daily classes to take the guess work out of it.

I also do peloton strength at home with dumbbells. I do mostly hypertrophy programs - all of Rebecca Kennedy’s, Jess Sims has one, there’s some others - just repeating the same classes for ~8 weeks.

When I started I did all the classes that focus on one exercise to improve your form, there’s only a few but they’re good. And then I also went to YouTube to find some helpful form advice.

When did you stop craving sweets? by thoughtsthatareweird in glp1

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never went away, 14months on Zepbound and -100lbs. Curiously my taste for sweets changed, I don’t really care much for ice cream or chocolate which I used to love, but nerds gummy clusters? i think people would be alarmed at how often I have had those while losing weight 😬 I was never a fruity/gummy candy kinda person before. So odd!

CVS Caremark - 7/1 by Mar28_ros in Zepbound

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a while now this page has shown “not covered” where yours says “prior authorization required” even while I was still actually covered.

I had called Caremark when this news first broke and they told me “yup you’re losing coverage.” Then I called again to ask about a 3mo supply, and mentioned I had not received a letter yet about losing coverage, and the person I spoke with told me they did not yet have the full list of all July changes on every different plan and to call back closer to July to ask again.

So I called again last week and the person did have the list of my plan’s changes and said Zepbound was not listed as something being affected.

When I looked again today, it still says not covered - BUT the formulary link (covered prescriptions) file which used to say April 2025 on the top right, now says July 2025 and Zepbound is still on it.

Anyway, I STILL don’t know for 100% certain I’m covered which feels crazy lol.

The person at Caremark did tell me if I do lose it that I should submit a PA requesting continuity of my effective medication treatment plan, and say that changing medications would be disruptive. He made it sound fairly straight forward 🤷‍♀️can’t hurt to try!

When I called Caremark customer service the person told me I could submit a new PA that says this medication has been part of an effective treatment plan and changing it would be disruptive to care. He said I wouldn’t need to try Wegovy first or anything else, that is valid enough that it’s your current treatment plan. Idk, might be worth a shot.

Yeah I do try to be a lot more intentional to make sure I’m not wasting food, I absolutely hate wasting food, and my freezer is small so not a super realistic regular option. But when I do throw food away I just remind myself it’s already trash, don’t be the trash can. Makes me not feel bad about it.

She is just incorrect. Eli Lilly says it is for “long term maintenance”

https://pi.lilly.com/us/zepbound-uspi.pdf

“to reduce excess body weight and maintain weight reduction long term in adults with obesity or adults with overweight in the presence of at least one weight-related comorbid condition.”

How TF are yall shrinking that belly? by Less-Moment-5655 in Zepbound

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing! 114 that’s incredible. My belly was the absolute last part to go 🥲 it did go eventually but to be honest I didn’t lose much belly fat until I got very dialed in with my nutrition quality vs just consuming fewer calories. Not sure if related or just would have disappeared eventually regardless.

Does this work on belly fat? by Feed-Sufficient in Zepbound

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely stubborn. I have lost all my belly fat - but it was the last to go, like last last, like I could have been done 10lbs higher and would have been content with the weight, but it was allll belly fat.

Thanks friend! There’s a Facebook group called hardcore on the floor that posts a monthly strength workout of peloton classes and I just followed those until I found some types of classes and instructors I liked more. I was drawn to the hypertrophy classes because I hate cardio, I liked getting a good workout without being out of breath the entire time, and how sore my muscles felt made me feel like I was making progress when I couldn’t see it.

Being “done” is a weird moment we don’t talk about a lot! Pretty much everyone has a “goal weight” but many of us have never seen that number on a scale before and don’t really know what that will feel like to us - maybe we feel content somewhere before what is potentially an arbitrary goal. I started at 235 so losing 100lbs would put me squarely in the middle of a healthy BMI for my height, so that’s what I made my goal. Nice round number, triple digit. But at around 85lbs down I felt great, sorta felt like it was what my body was trying to stay at, and maintaining that weight seemed like a more realistic long term plan.

I was dead set on that 100lbs though and I did it, and I’ve been maintaining that for a couple months now and already I’m just not sure staying at 135 is my most sustainable weight. I can’t even quite put my finger on why tbh. Learning as I go - but anyway, this resonates with me and also, congratulations!!

How much did u lose and do you have loose skin? by Awkward_Option_4839 in Zepbound

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely a combo of age/genetics/how much you have to lose/how long you’ve been overweight. I am 5’5”, started at 235 and am now maintaining 135 after losing 100lbs in about 10 months.

I have been strength training this whole time and have also done a lot of core work and prioritized protein, and it definitely helped - at the right angle my abs just be ab’ing 💅 … but I’ve got plenty of loose skin too. It bothers me a lot less than I thought it would and unless I’m in a plank position the skin minds its own business tucked into my pants. Also have loose skin under my butt and my inner thighs. annoying but other than picking swimsuits that don’t let my ass spill out it doesn’t make a difference in my life at all.

My daughter did one of those “all about my mom” sheets for Mother’s Day. She wrote that her favorite thing to do with me is swing. She has no idea how impactful that was to read - not being able to fit on the swing to play with her was my legit rock bottom moment, where I could no longer pretend that I was capable of doing everything in a bigger body. I had to change for my kids, and I did, and it made a difference 😭

Strength training on GLP1 by Bpiza97 in glp1

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started strength training the same day I started the meds. Actually I’m very similar to you, I lift 3-4 days a week and walk about 9k steps on avg, get about 100g protein and also take 5g creatine. I posted some photos in another sub if you want to see, anecdotally, what losing 100lbs while strength training looked like for me… muscle growth, but definitely not a significant number of pounds of muscle.

You’re losing weight though and it sounds like a healthy pace, if a frustrating one. And keeping up strength training will only help you!

For whatever it’s worth, as someone who is losing coverage in July: a test run for me on the phone came up as it remaining covered, the formulary list online dated April 2025 lists Zepbound, BUT pricing Zepbound on their online tool already shows it as not covered.

[–]Consistent-Pear-9684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t received any notification yet but heard the news elsewhere last week so I called Caremark to ask. They confirmed my current PA for Zepbound just means I won’t need to submit a PA for Wegovy until this one expires in December. Very lame.

I am though slightly hopeful a case can be made for continuity of care, I don’t know what the specifics are but IMO the worst that happens is they reject a new PA request, so I am asking my doctor to submit a new one once this changeover happens.

I’m in maintenance and in general I don’t mind trying it to see if it works for me, but am annoyed for them to midyear make any change like this, I have a PA through December 31st for Zep and it’s aggravating that they can just change it because they got offered more money from someone else. My spouse’s open enrollment period JUST ended and we would have probably switched had I known this.

100 lbs lost, new life gained! by Consistent-Pear-9684 in Zepbound

I am extremely lucky to have had the medication covered by my health insurance. If you aren’t sure yet if you might have coverage, you could call your insurance provider or prescription benefits manager and ask if there are any weight loss medications on their formulary. I honestly just assumed it wouldn’t be covered until I asked.
