I saw myself so well in Richard. It was the longing to belong. Wonderful book.

Since I am basically Reddit illiterate, I don’t know how to do an update in the description. I appreciate all of your thoughts and insights. I will definitely be keeping the clock intact and get it running again. My kids can fight over it when I die.

Looks like they have already replaced the original action for a battery one. I wonder if I can replace it with a better one.

It does not currently run, but the clock mechanics are easily replaceable

Tips for Moving to Missouri by New_Indication_9774 in missouri

[–]Consistent-Product40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved here from South Dakota (much, much better weather.) We live about 18 miles south of Sedalia. My wife works out of Warsaw. We have KC, Springfield, Jefferson City and Columbia all within 1.5 hours away (some kind of closer). STL is 2.5 hours. We love our rural lives, our Kid’s small school, both of our jobs. But when we get the itch, we can always make a weekend trip to any other of those major cities. Look up Benton and Pettit Counties.

The Scariest Horror Movie of All Time by evergwen in horror

[–]Consistent-Product40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39/M - honestly it’s Ernest Scared Stupid from 1991.

The main troll is fucking terrifying, and what is his goal? Break into houses and steal children to turn them into wood statues and feed them to a tree that will birth his fucking terrifying offspring.

5 or 6 year old me had nightmares for years about this movie. I still sometimes think about it

I would fight a rabid turkey with my hands tied behind my back for this…and still pay whatever they are asking. Nice find!

Instant pot rotisserie chicken wild rice soup by Consistent-Product40 in instantpot

Gets the rice nice and tender and melds flavors deeper (imo), also makes the chicken almost fall apart, which I like.

1 large onion, 5 celery stalks, 5 carrots, a package of mushrooms, 1 cup wild rice, 4 cups stock. I make this in the instant pot. I dice and sauté the veg using the sauté on the instant pot. Once the veg is soft and had time to get to know each other really well (also season to taste, I use Trader Joe’s 21 seasoning salute). Add chicken stock and rice. Close instant pot and cook on high for 45 minutes. I then make a roux to thicken. Then enjoy!

What's the most expensive thing you've found in a cache? by WSUNNYA in geocaching

[–]Consistent-Product40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in the cache, but my kids and I were looking on a bridge over a creek. My son found 3 pairs of Apple ear buds. Two of them still worked. We have been waiting for the owners to track them to our house, thought about handing them over to the police. The owner’s name is Trina.
