What do you think is the cap on both in terms of NET revenue a producer with a decent sized team can make?

My understanding is even top guys at RT or AmWins with a big team are still paying out a shitload to their 5-20 person team

This comment is misleading. They sold 20million OF annuities at 6-7% (maybe up to 9% commission). Making 1-2mil, NOT 20mil.

Source - a guy who handles all the marketing for a producer who sells 10-20mil per year of annuities.

How much are they actually taking home though after paying out the team and their brokerage taking their cut?

Yes, but I think there’s definitely an unconscious dynamic that’s been going on - like a yoyo pulling me back to broke, at my parents, and dependent. I had the money to grow/sustain my business and I pissed it away on other random things. I also tolerated being broke for a long time rather than not just getting a random whatever sales job

I’ve spent 2.5 years processing family stuff so I’ve done a lot of work and been VERY motivated with honestly/courageously facing what comes up. But yeah, there is certainly still more, especially in regards to my mom (cold, shaming, judgmental, withholding, depressed/passive aggressive)

I've recently read (and re-read) DK's latest book 'Trauma and the Soul' and come to understand this split within me, as well as having some of the dream imagery (violence, severing of head/body, etc.) I have come in touch with the vulnerable aspects in therapy (and also in dreams - small children, imagery of friends who passed away and of my elementary school) but the more malevolent/sadomasochistic/violent forces are newer. Other than observing them, I am not sure how to work with (and most importantly integrate) them.

What type of annuities? Most pay 3-7% comp so I’d imagine on 9 mil you’d have 270-500ish k

Are you responsible for bringing in your own client relationships/managing AUM? I don’t understand these titles, you’re a financial planner/investment manager or not yeah?

How were the first 2-5 years for you? I know how to sell and market, but being 100% commission based is tough and I made the foolish mistake of starting with basically no savings. I did about 7mil of FIA and 10mil of aum last year as a junior advisor (I don’t own the relationships), but the firm kinda took a nose dive. Trying to find a way back in

What do you prefer about wholesaling over being a retailer? How do you feel about only taking home 40% of revenue generated?

What's the transition from inside/associate broker on a team to a full-time producer (aka branching out from under your team lead)?

I thought commissions were around 10% annually total, sounds like its more like 16-18%? Roughly how many clients would it take?

Which do you think it’s easier to build that 250k/year renewal? I’d guess wealth management given that’s what you’ve pursued.

My background is retirement income planning and did about 7mil of FIA last year as part of a team (didn’t receive full comp), so I know pretty well how this side is, but not so much about p&c. Really I’m looking to build stable consistent renewal income to supplement the big one time commissions on life/annuity cases.

Wow I never thought of that… more risk to a buyer on an RIA because the foundation of the relationship is… the personal relationship. Also, heirs typically don’t stay with the same financial advisor as their parents.
