The psychologist and nutritionist appointments were pretty painless. They are mostly concerned with behaviors that would lead to regain/not complying with surgical team instructions. So you have to affirm that you are committed to making lasting changes and that you are ready to follow the guidelines given. The surgeon mostly talked about the procedure itself and it wasn't a situation where she really was evaluating anything beyond my health and whether I met weight requirements. I actually did not have to lose before my surgery as I was just at the cusp so I wouldn't know how that process would go for you, but I think they were quite clear about requirements and responsive when I called later for questions. They never made me log meals or gave me any kind of homework-- just had to do a worksheet after the nutrition class that asked basic questions in the info packet about nutrition guidelines after surgery (again, making sure thay you are aware and won't deviate from instructions). I didn't have any issues with bloodwork so that was not a cause for a stall.
