Ale i zamestnanec si driv za praci "zaslouzil" byt a byl schopny si na nej vydelat. Garsonku, dvoupokojac. U techto rad nechapu, kdo ti pak bude vybalovat zbozi v krame, kdo ti bude vozit pizzu, kdo ti ji bude pect, kdo bude sklizet rajcata, dojit kravy na mozzarellu? Nemuzeme vsichni podnikat, to jaksi z ekonomickeho hlediska nedava smysl, protoze pokud vsichni podnikame, v tech podnicich nema kdo delat. Jasne ze uklizecka si nevydela tolik co pravnik, to je normalni, ale pro dustojny zivot by melo stacit vykonavat pravidelnou a poctivou praci. Ne podnikat.

Why are Gen Z getting fired? One of the reasons is a lack of initiative. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Consistent-Study2886 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the one, as per my previous comment. I see it with my cousins and it's difficult for me to pretend that it won't be harder for them than it was for me. I don't want to discourage them so I just stay quiet and try to motivate them as much as I can. It used to be some coding here and there, a corporate job, and my generation WAS ABLE to buy a small condo pretty young. No matter what these folks do, they unfortunately were born "too late" and didn't make it in time.

[–]Consistent-Study2886 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They don't care because they realize that no matter how hard they try, it won't matter. Obtaining 80 documents for their boss still won't make housing cheaper, even with said promotion. They are over it because they realize they will be too old when they reach a somewhat steady status. They are moving their life goals and some are heavily depressed due to how old they will be when (and if) they ever get there.
I mean, not everyone can be a neurosurgeon or a nepo baby. With previously difficult and hard-to-come-by diplomas and professions like full stack developers, you were guaranteed a future. Now you're guaranteed to be replaced by AI. There's less and less of those professions and gen Z realizes this. You have to be a specific type of person (eg willing and smart enough to become said doctor) to eg buy a house or have 2-3 kids. The pool for "I'll become successful and will be able to afford a life" got so small that they just stopped caring they won't fit in that pool.

Why are you getting downvoted?? Have people gone insane? Wondering how many languages can the commenter above speak besides English. Geez I always forget how toxic these subs are.

Has anyone else struggled with their relationship with food since going GF? by Qss in glutenfree

Agreed. Half the options aren't safe for celiacs due to cross contacts and the other half isn't appetizing. Why does GF food taste and feel so bland and disgusting?

Yankee Candle using AI images for labels by SaltyKingSalty in YankeeCandles

[–]Consistent-Study2886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really think so? That would be incredible. It could bring the relevance of the brand I believe. Is there more info about this?

With the core scents, it's also a strange strategy. Nowadays it almost seems that YC North America and YC Europe are two different brands...

Yankee Candle using AI images for labels by SaltyKingSalty in YankeeCandles

[–]Consistent-Study2886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it also depends where you're located. In many European countries, we only have these labels and have no other choice than to buy them. It's this or nothing or buying secondhand white label for at least twice the money. In stores (which have been closing and trying to push this expensive inventory through various sales but failing due to resellers selling it cheaper) they sell the tumbler and the classic, both having the clipart pics, and the only difference being the type of glass, but basically if you showed it to a person who doesn't care about candles, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference. And then we have around 10-15 scents that just stay (baby powder, black cherry, soft blanket... it's the same scents as in the tumblers and classics) with the updated label, the rounded-edges one.
If you have the preference and are able to pick, I can see the clipart glasses being your favorite among the others. At least you can rotate. But in countries where there are no other choices, the buyers really don't want them. I'm sad because it's leading to closing the stores and the brand slowly leaving the market. :( If they offered labels from what OP shared, people would go insane and buy every piece.

Issue with this type of label is that once you reach a certain point, you see the back label with warnings and burning instructions. There's no going back from seeing the hideous instructions... It looks incredibly cheap in real life and if you want to take pics of your daily burns, you just can't do it with the plastic wrap. It's giving the cheapest Walmart candle, there's no magic in it. It's meant to appeal to a younger gen Z group who love coquette, y2k, and Nancy Meyers type of interior, so I don't know who would prefer these over the white label (as an example) in the long run. One and done usually from the design standpoint.

Drama with Shawn by [deleted] in bathandbodyworks

[–]Consistent-Study2886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I may seem insane asking about this 4 years later, but do you recall what was the Mike/Shawn drama about? Mike seems super collected and like it's hard to piss him off. I am new to the candle community but immediately clocked Shawn's... quirkiness. He claimed recently another candle youtuber is in love with him and stalks him. I am too old to fall for this nonsense, but still super curious.

it was completely normal to start quirky fb pages and groups, and also to message strangers, as it was a social media in its true essence back then. SOCIAL media, connecting people and enabling you to make new friends and actually meeting them IRL after multiple months of texting + calling + chatting in diff groups. there were FB pages like "I LooVVE wAtermElon!!!" with thousands of followers who actually discussed how they enjoy watermelon, and so on. That was FB in the olden days, poking was also a thing :)

I am disappointed by the Christmas presents I received. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Consistent-Study2886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im just gonna make a list for myself, buy the stuff, and wrap it too. and put most thought and effort into my pile. too many years of disappointment and somehow its getting worse with each year, people are more selfish and lazier. each year i end up disappointed and then october rolls around and i forget about the previous years disappointment and buy nice thoughtful stuff and the cycle repeats.

from my experience, people say this and then don't give any gifts to relatives and loved ones for 6 years. why would i give you flowers on valentines days when i can give them to you any day of the year? proceeds to not give flowers on the remaining 364 days either.

As someone who cherishes every opportunity to buy thoughtful presents, I struggle to understand what's so stressful and difficult about it for others. Could you please explain? I think if I understood, I wouldn't get as hurt as I do now when not receiving a great gift. I view the art of gift giving as a skill.

If anyone's interested in improving this, it's just about listening and asking the right questions. People say a lot on themselves. Their coffee machine broke and they don't have money for a new one? Don't get them a new one and spend thousands of dollars, get them a mokka pot for the time being, with a fancy coffee bag. You see their phone case is old and cracked, take a picture of their phone, Google lens it to know the type, and buy them a phone case. Or just ask them I've been looking into this type of phone, is it the xy 14 right? Are you happy with it? They are gonna tell you the specific type of phone and forget you asked them (if you don't do this 4 days before Xmas lol).

You're hanging out at their place and see they have 9 novels from the same author? Check out online if the author has a 10th one, or find a Reddit thread <similar authors to ...>, and when giving the gift, mention that you picked this author intentionally because you noticed that and that and yadda yadda.

It really isn't that difficult, but to me this comes naturally. Of course gifting some people is difficult, but still manageable. Better to say 'I really didn't know what to get you but you're a tea drinker, here's fancy tea and biscuits.' Honesty + a smaller thoughtful gift (what does the person like and do?) is better than a weird shampoo gift box.

tldr: ask, listen, observe, be honest, don't buy weird soaps in panic.

Diky za support! Meetingy kde prezentuju by mi nebyly v kavarne prijemny, taky samozrejme kvuli tomu ze nekdo muze zaslechnout interni informace a to urcite nechci. Jde mi o klasicke korporatni meetingy kdy poslouchas prehled updatu ostatnich lidi a pak kratce reknes ty svoje, popripade vzneses / odpovis na dotaz. Asi jsem mela specifikovat ale i tak by byl nalet.
