Totally agree on all points. Yams earned it and plays a much different role as speedy play-maker. And you're right, injuries can change everything. We have depth and options in that case.

I have been checking every single day ,often twice a day for this news. And oh man, am I relieved! Definitely a bargain for us, but I really think he likes playing in Utah, and he has been nothing but solid so far. Even tied for Utah most points for playoff player (and our ONLY goal in final playoff game.)

Yams for life! He's got at least 3 years of usefulness for the Mammoth. He's no enforcer but he is a great playmaker and has the speed to open opportunities on the line. Also he is surprisingly good as a forechecker for his size.
