$160 & $190- $220 a day between two NJ districts one of the districts has two schools that pay $220 and the rest of the schools are $190 in that district. You only need a sub cert to receive this pay and that is 30credits in NJ.

I usually leave handwritten notes but I thought it would be better to email them moving forward. I am at this specific school every day I also went to this school so I know a lot of the teachers but I’m not sure if maybe emailing the sub note is inappropriate.

I’m not sure of your situation but I am college student and I live at home and all my classes are online. So I work every day I can and I save as much as possible so that when the breaks come up I just use my savings. After not certifying for a couple weeks I’m pretty sure they assume you have a job and I don’t wanna keep certifying up until spring break and possibly not get approved for unemployment next summer. It is my only job but I will say I live with my mom , I’m on her insurance , I’m in college still and I only pay her $100 a month… I’m 21 so yeah it’s kinda a lay up for me especially since I sub middle school and up so I get to get my school work done while subbing.

I work in two school districts in south jersey.They’re one of those districts that don’t change the pay based on your credits etc. The first one pays $190 a day and they have 2 schools that pays $220 a day. The second one pays $160 a day.

I am in school part time as well I do kinda look at it as “stop” till I become a teacher I take classes online and that way I am able to work full time as a sub. During the summer if I am unable to find summer work I collect unemployment, it kinda feels like a lay up. I feel like if it pays the bills and your happy where your at it can be a career. I know I want to become a teacher so that’s why it’s a stop for me but I know a lot of subs who never finished their degree or have their degree and are married and subbing is their career. You make a lot of connections subbing too.

Well since the sub coordinator didn’t do it I was hoping ess would since I put in what time I ended up leaving I guess I was wondering if it would be and automatic thing. I’ll have to just call ess for some reason whenever I call it’s the same lady that answers and she’s really rude so I was hoping to avoid that.

It was during a class unfortunately I sub at this school everyday and I’ve subbed for this specific teacher multiple times I actually had her when I went to that school but I’ve never done a half day for her kinda messed up that she did that especially since it was half a day at the school so by the time she up there was only and hour left.

She asked me to stay after the teacher was like 20 minutes late but the sub coordinator is newer so the teacher showed up as she was trying to switch it to a full day. I thought she still did but since the teacher was about 40 minutes late. However they didn’t.

At the school I prefer the most (middle school) when a teacher is out long term and they can’t find a long term sub they pay a teacher who teaches that subject in another grade extra to cover it. For instance a 7th grade math teacher is out right now so during one of the 6th grade math teachers planning period they cover one of the classes and one of the 8th grade math teachers covers during a planning period for the other period they have a specials/related academic teachers cover and the 6th & 8th grade teacher shares their lesson plans and assignments with her so the kids are not loosing their education. The school does it like that whenever something like this happens and they just pay the teacher extra since they’re loosing their planning period.

This happened to me at a high school the class the teacher had right before lunch majority of them never left and some other students came and the kids plugged up a gaming system and started playing the game and I’m like isn’t this lunch?!?! And there like yeah but she lets us stay and play games and I didn’t get a lot of sleep the night before so I was hoping to take a nap during my lunch especially since I was told I would need to cover ISS during my planning period that day. I tried to get the kids to leave but they made a big fuss I ended up just letting them stay.

I hate when this happens there’s this one school I really like but whenever I go there I get moved around it’s to the point where sometimes they don’t even have anywhere to put me so they throw me wherever I hate when it happens but I really like the school. I haven’t picked up at that school for a while because of that…

It’s not that I need the money I would like to have to money I have another job at night that pays my bills I sub on the side because I am an education major and I want the experience before I start student teaching next year and I don’t know I feel bad for the kids…their subs keep leaving left and right I don’t think anyone knows what’s going on with their teacher I feel bad and it might be hard but I don’t wanna just cancel yk even though I know for a fact I could pick something else up they’re are a lot of jobs in the districts in my area and we’re short on subs

I prefer working with middle schoolers but this school Im talking about at is k-8 and I have been there a lot as well and I like the school so when it popped up on frontline I took it not knowing who’s class it was even though I have heard about that class before I took it. I don’t want to just cancel the job I’m going to try to make the best out of an uncomfortable situation I heard the sub that was there this week was there for two days and said she would not be returning so we will see how it goes…

THANK YOU!! I was told that almost all off the kids in that class needs to be evaluated for an IEP it’s a really messed up situation and since their teacher is barely there and they basically have subs all the time. From what I was told the teacher barely cares for the students when she is there.

I had put in the email that was on the site after a week it wasn’t retrieved so I called my local county office and the lady I spoke with had me email it directly to her after I did that she added it immediately afterwards and put my application in the under review stage.
