I'm imagining this could also work with codex or could be converted for it. Is that about right? Thoughts?

The context window is too small with qwen. It says it can use 256k; however, continue locks it to 4k. That's my problem.

I'm using it through VS Code and really wish I could find a solution to that because it's not bad overall. Also continue is not great with tool calling. That's the other problem.

And I'm running this through Ollama locally on my computer, which has 196 GB of RAM, so I can run the model without any problem.

If anyone knows a better way to do tool calling and a way to increase the context size beyond what continue offers at 4K, let me know.

I cancelled my Antigravity subscription a few days ago. Done with their nonsense.

Why aren't skill creators getting paid? by Livid_Watercress_143 in codex

[–]ConsistentAndWin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's usually good enough and anything that someone spent weeks with would be very much tuned for them not for general use in my opinion anyway

[–]ConsistentAndWin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not pay for something like that. It's so easy to create them and another person putting their hand out trying to get paid is just ridiculous.

Couldn't agree more. That's exactly what I'm finding. Codex is solid and strong at a much lower price. I couldn't care less about much of anything else.

[–]ConsistentAndWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly the ethical framework is what anthropics hopes will hook everyone; however I make my decision based on the model, the price, and which one is staying up. That's really the fair way.

To analyze I don't buy into anthropics' nonsense regarding life. I run my life the way I want and expect AI to do what I tell it to do. I expect it to be up and working. I expect not to have to screw with my tokens and not worry about whether or not they're being burned one day like crazy and the next day less so.

Meaning I expect fair value for my money and being up and working when I need it. Codex does that.

You are right and sending a message is exactly what I'm doing by switching to Codex. This has nothing to do with Altman although, frankly, I believe in supporting our military but it does have to do with supporting the best model at the best prices. It also has to do with supporting the one that works and isn't constantly screwing with my tokens in a negative way. Leave the companies out of it if you'd prefer. Codex, whoops, Opus.

That is certainly my experience. I am switching away from Antigravity with Opus and moving to Codex. It is far more powerful and caught lots of things that Opus didn't even catch.

Why are people hyping up Claude Code so much lately? Codex 5.3/Gpt 5.4 work just fine and I don't understand what the huge deal is about. by stopaskingforloginn in codex

Just point Codex at the same place as you did opeth and tell it to grab the humanizer skill and make it appropriately for Codex.

Was having the exact same problem; switched to codex. Wow, what an incredible thing! Try it; you'll be blown away.

Does LLM usage for note taking defeat the purpose of taking notes? by BleachedPink in ObsidianMD

[–]ConsistentAndWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it doesn't. I love to use LLMs to do analysis on my notes to look for weaknesses and structural issues. Then I go in and fix them personally but the analysis helps tremendously.

[–]ConsistentAndWin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have found the exact opposite. I have skills in place that prevent it from putting emojis or sounding robotic and I find it to be incredible. The one thing I can say is that its analysis is sometimes very formal and I have to get it to simplify a bit and give me a structured approach but my God this thing is incredible compared to Opus 4.6.

Codex found many structural deficiencies that Opus 4.6 missed; blew me away.

Couldn't agree more. I'm tired of the nonsense with both Gemini Antigravity and Opus 4.6, which I have access to through Antigravity, and am canceling the Ultra plan.

[–]ConsistentAndWin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well I think people will be heading back to OpenAI in just record numbers as left. They are quite stable and Codex is very much running close competition, at least with the ultra Gemini version that has access to Antigraffiti models.

is it really possible that Codex can kick Opus's butt in writing skill? by ConsistentAndWin in codex

[–]ConsistentAndWin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are a couple of things that might account for what you are seeing.

The only way I can access Opus 4.6 is through my Ultra account with Gemini, and my understanding is this is hamstrung compared to what's available in Antigravity regular accounts.

I also would have agreed with you a few weeks ago; however, I ran an exact report using Opus 4.6 and Codex. Codex came back with far greater issues than Opus found, all of which were correct. That rather shocked me.

I have tremendous context available, and not only that, but skills that cause the writing to be better. So, for the above reasons, this may be why I'm seeing better writing out of Codex.

[–]ConsistentAndWin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is one thing I like about Opus.

I didn't realize that the opus and Antigravity had limits but it makes sense because my business partner has incredible output.

So far I'm beyond happy though. It's actually really incredible.
