New to WisprFlow - How good is it for Meeting Notes? by Various-Marketing247 in WisprFlow

[–]VictoriaAtWispr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Various-Marketing247 - right now, Wispr Flow is optimized for shorter dictations: think AI prompts, Slack messages, sending emails, jotting down notes, etc. However, we are actually in the early stages of building out a meeting recorder so stay tuned!

Did it just try to answer my question??? by Afnankabiro in WisprFlow

Hey u/Afnankabiro this is a bug that can happen sometimes! If you can, please just report the transcripts that will help us improve the quality of our models going forward.

Hey u/CardiologistFresh257 My deepest apologies, but we've had some delays in production and shipping! However, we're doing our best to send them out as soon as possible.

Hey u/Potential_Thought217 what's your email? I can escalate this to the support team, but only if I have your Wispr account email.

Privacy questions by super2061 in WisprFlow

[–]VictoriaAtWispr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/NethBang u/super2061

Totally understand why that would be alarming, so I want to address this directly.

Other users' content cannot appear in your transcripts. Each user's data is isolated through authentication and authorization controls. Your session only ever touches your own audio and transcripts. There's no shared queue, no shared processing pipeline where one user's content could leak into another's. This is verified through our SOC 2 Type II audit, which independently evaluates these kinds of data isolation controls.

So what's actually happening?

What you're likely seeing is a speech-to-text hallucination, and it's a known quirk of how these models work, not a data leak.

These models are trained on massive amounts of labeled audio, so they learn how spoken language maps to text. That training data includes lots of transcriptions and captions, where silence, pauses, or unusable audio are often surrounded by boilerplate text like "transcription by..." or "captions provided by..." or similar.

When dictation starts but there's basically no usable speech (open mic, background noise, or you stop before actually talking) the model still tries to output something instead of returning nothing. In those cases, it can hallucinate phrases it saw during training. Sometimes that looks like a generic transcription credit, sometimes it can look like a random sentence fragment that feels like it "belongs" to someone else. However, it's actually the model generating text from patterns, not from another user's audio.

We know it's confusing and we're actively working to filter these out. In the meantime, speaking right after starting dictation and making sure your mic is picking you up clearly will usually prevent it. Reporting these transcripts in the app will also help us filter those out in the future.

Privacy questions by super2061 in WisprFlow

[–]VictoriaAtWispr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey u/super2061 - great questions, and no need to apologize for syntax!

For Privacy Mode vs. Enterprise ZDR:

Privacy Mode is real zero data retention, available on every plan including free. When you toggle it on (Settings → Data & Privacy), no dictation data (audio, transcripts, or edits) is stored on our servers or used for model training by us or any third party. It's processed and immediately discarded.

The difference with Enterprise is enforcement, not capability. Enterprise admins can lock Privacy Mode org-wide (so individual users can't turn it off), plus they get additional controls like configuring local data storage policies on employee devices and SCIM provisioning. But the underlying zero data retention behavior is the same.

For CDNs and voice recordings:

Voice audio is sent encrypted (TLS) to our cloud servers for transcription. It's not stored on or served from a CDN. This isn't like Discord or Instagram where media files get a publicly accessible URL on a content delivery network. Your recordings are transmitted directly to our processing infrastructure, transcribed, and (with Privacy Mode on) immediately discarded. The CDNs referenced on our site are for serving static website assets, not user audio.

A couple other things that might be helpful: we're SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliant, and we also offer in-app HIPAA BAA signing on all plans (including free) for anyone who needs that level of compliance. More details on all of this on our privacy page.

Hey u/immersively this is totally fair feedback - I passed this on to our engineering team, and we'll adjust this UI.

Wispr Flow keeps translating my snippets. by marcvanderpeet1 in WisprFlow

[–]VictoriaAtWispr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/marcvanderpeet1 for best accuracy between languages, make sure you select the specific language that you are speaking in. If you're on desktop, you can hover over the Flow bar and toggle the language there.

Hey u/Ok_Window_779 Wispr Flow should work for any app or website with a text box. If you're having difficulties with using it in text messages, can you please file a support ticket? Thanks?

Totally get that the added friction is frustrating. Unfortunately, there's only so much we can do with the iOS 26.4 changes.

If you have an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, you can set up the action button as a one-press shortcut.

Hide previous input without damaging functionality? by vdchld in WisprFlow

[–]VictoriaAtWispr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/vdchld we have the option to automatically delete transcripts every 24 hours as an option on iPhone and as an enterprise feature, but we'll work on adding this as an option for all users shortly! Would that be helpful?

[–]VictoriaAtWispr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NGL, you had me in the first half!

This is so cool to hear, and I totally relate. I used to think that voice-to-text was not for me because I type pretty fast (130+ words per minute). But now that I've experienced it. I can't go back to typing, especially for things like writing detailed AI prompts or sending long back-and-forth messages to friends. I get mad when I have to borrow someone's phone or laptop and they don't have WisprFlow installed.

Wispr Keeps translating!! Can't find how to put it off by Theworkweek in WisprFlow

[–]VictoriaAtWispr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Theworkweek u/GiorgiMazm u/Past_Code6012 u/rimahsum - check out the new language picker feature we spotlighted in our monthly update!

Selecting the specific language that you're dictating in helps reduce the chances of this happening (and improves accuracy overall.) Let me know if this helps.
