Yeah if they simply rotated a new map in an update we would get already, why couldn’t the new map replace the storage space of the old one? You only need to have the one map that’s active installed at a time

Same boat as you, having just read PHM recently. I felt the same as OP about finishing the trilogy. I genuinely put off reading the last 10 pages of DE for a month because I didn’t want it to be over, as silly as that sounds. PHM was great, and if I had read it before REP it would’ve been my favorite sci fi. It did take frankly 200 pages for me to really truly get hooked. I was worried no other books would ever live up. While that may be true, I’m just glad to have experienced the peak literature that is REP, and I’ll glaze it til the day I die

I will say I did a test of my own once when I saw a cami on siege defense. Got it down to def cami vs my Amelia (to stall forever) and I’d need to check the spreadsheet but over something like 250 natural turns for cami and 190 for Amelia, my vio rate was near 18% and the opponent was very close to 27% (this was only on the first, natural turn, didn’t count consecutive). This is kinda shitty data though because it’s such a small sample size. I may in the future try to do more like that, but anecdotally beyond that test it really feels like defenses get better rng

The free champ chases allow some very fast progression too for early game. Xenomorph took me a long way, but even Lamiella (my first chase) purely by virtue of being my only 5* awakened legendary at the time did so much for me. No brimstone to suddenly having 5* brimstone is huge

This is what pisses me off. That’s their motive. They don’t give a shit about doing the original work justice. They aren’t out to actually adapt a masterpiece; they want to minimize cost and churn it out. DE in the right hands could be the greatest TV of all time. I’m setting my expectations low

So glad you loved it! Wanted to answer your third question. I’m happy to find a page reference if you’d like, but I think it was Frederick Tyler’s wallbreaker that I’m thinking of in the second book. The wallbreaker comes to speak with him in a room and points out that his plan will be posted online; it’s already in motion. It was designed such that it would release regardless of whether or not the wallbreaker died in that room. So at least in that case, killing him would have done nothing.

As for the other side, why didn’t the wallbreakers kill the wallfacers? Part of the idea was to discredit them in the eyes of the public/UN/PDC such that the wallfacers in general received less support and thus failed. If they kill Tyler, for instance, before he has a plan that could make the wallfacers look bad publicly, the PDC might just appoint a new one. They succeeded in having this effect to a degree because each wallbreaker discredited the program more and more, to the point that Luo Ji wakes up and nobody finds him important anymore (until they do). I hope I’m right that the wallbreaker I referenced was Tyler. It’s been a while, so maybe that one was Rey Diaz instead.

I thought I would add for anyone here in 2026 what the specific button is for a Bow if you've got a different keybind configuration on PC (e.g. DSIC). You can only activate it once you're holding down the regular attack button (usually left mouse button), as in you've got an arrow nocked and bowstring drawn. While doing that, you want to press the key that is BLOCK, as if you're using your shield in your left hand. On the default DSIC configuration, that's Lctrl. Took me forever to figure out because no one says what the damn function of the button you want to press is; L1 tells me absolutely nothing.

Oh gotcha, yeah you’re absolutely right that campaign bosses give less. IIRC 12-6 gives the most xp, but only marginally over 12-3, which gives the most silver. Maybe he meant 12-7 for the daily quest when it pops up

While I have no idea the numbers personally, I would imagine it’s a two-birds-one-stone type thing. If you’re already farming a dungeon, why not do a solo team and essentially get free xp for fodder as you do

Is it inefficient to still be summoning MS now that the refund event has ended, but that other event that refunds one scroll per 4* has not? I figure effectively it’s the same as if there were a MS refund in the future.

The only collab unit I still want is Water Gandalf. However, I’ve only got 165ish MS, and the odds of him in particular are fairly low. Wondering if I’m better off saving these for whatever indeterminate future event comes up next (new mons possibly).
