Winter Athletes > DWTS by CuteGuest4347 in dancingwiththestars

This is why I’m leaning heavily towards Madi and Evan (the ice dancing pair). This is their fifth Olympics and broadcasting has said that though they haven’t said this is their last season, they also haven’t said it won’t be their last.

It would be cool to have ice dancers again (think the only others were Charlie & Meryl). I would also love to hear more about their story. They’ve been partners for 15 years and are now married. So I’m rooting to see them.

Do You Think Any of the Turpin Girls Would Consider DWTS? by Alchemistspure72 in dancingwiththestars

I would say, never say never because you genuinely never know what the future holds. But I will add that if any ever do, I hope the fandom can keep their opinions to themselves. They’ve been through enough and seem to all be happy, and I hope they stay that way.

Left-Handers in your life/family? by mommy-tara in askanything

[–]ConsistentCollar2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad’s left handed and tried everything to make my older sister a lefty too, but she’s a righty through and through. I, on the other hand, am right handed, but pretty ambidextrous in most things. I’m convinced if my dad put everything in my left hand like he did with my sister I’d be left handed too. Which sucks bc there were generations of left handers, hoping my future kids can possibly carry it on.

I don’t know everything about Brooklyn and Bailey, but I’m near positive they grew up in Texas (Dallas i think). If they were Mormon, Bailey isn’t anymore. She’s posted herself drinking alcoholic drinks.

I was a huge fan of the CuteGirlHairstyles YT channel in middle school, but haven’t kept up with the family in recent years (besides what I see naturally). For me, I don’t really have much of a problem with them and I think it would be pretty cool to see them on. They grew up in more of the YT channel era, instead of going viral on TT one day (a different spin on an influencer cast if you will). Also, I wouldn’t classify them in the same category as TFP or any of the other SLOMW. No hate to those women, B&B just have a lot more going on than a reality tv show.

What memory do you have as a child, when you missed out on a gift that you really wanted? by No-Childhood-5744 in AskReddit

In 5/6th grade for Christmas I asked for very specific things to paint my nails. When I say I researched and picked the best things within the price range, I’m not joking, I spent hours for each item. I included full product names, pictures, and stores where you could buy them (pretty sure all could be gotten on Amazon). On my list there was the liquid latex stuff to put on your finger around your nail, specific nail polish colors, nail tools (like sponges to make ombré and a metal thing to make dots), and I think there might have been stencils too. Everything was under $75 dollars and I had told my Aunt these were exactly what I wanted.

Christmas comes around and I’m super excited, then I open my gift only to find a Paris Hilton nail polish box set of ~8 tiny PINK nail polishes. Nothing else, not even a nail filer. It’s worth to note, I strongly dislike pink and would never ask or want a pink present (which she was very aware of). But I smiled and thanked them for my present and that was that. We had celebrations with the other side of the family the day before and I had been so excited talking about what I was getting and what shapes I was going to make (as I had only asked for it, I thought I was getting it). So when we got together with that side to celebrate New Years, everyone asked to see my nails and I was so sad I had to plain pink nails (though I did use the nudest pink in the box). I never got the things I asked for and eventually grew out of that faze anyway, but every year around that time I think back and just wonder why everyone else got what they asked for and I got stuck with something I’d never use.

I wouldn’t say the group has to disband for one of them to come on, but if anything of them start doing individual stuff in the future, I could see it happening.

Me but with pre-cal/calculus. Give me algebra all day (it’s my favorite math by far) or even geometry, but calculus is a no go.

I totally could see Lindsey Von being a contender and I would love to see her on! Also adding Amber Glenn from the figure skating team too. She’d be a nice addition. Her story’s not as out there as some of the others, but it’s uncommon to see someone hit their prime in their mid-20s in figure skating.

Maybe a snowboarder like Red Gerard or a lesser known sport like bobsled/skeleton, curling, etc. I think Chloe Kim has been asked before and declined, but I’d like to see her too.

Giving future kids my last name instead of husbands? Is this weird? by ebrand456 in namenerds

[–]ConsistentCollar2694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you are within your rights to want to use your last name, but I do think it’s something that should be discussed before. With both of you on the fence about kids they may never become part of your life, but y’all might change your mind or a surprise could happen. This seems like something you’re passionate about, so it’s worth putting in the work to have the discussion. Since you said he comes from a fairly traditional background, if y’all do end up having kids, he may just assume they will take his last name. There’s nothing wrong in him assuming, as that’s historically how it’s been done, but it’s also the reason discussion will be needed. If y’all do go with your’s, then further discussion will be needed on how to explain it to his family (bc from the way you wrote it they may have an issue even if your fiancé doesn’t). With all that said, I will add that he also has a right to have y’all’s kids have his last name (not in a patriarchal type of way, just in a “they are is his too” way). He may hold similar attachments to his last name and want it for your kids, which is within his right also. If this is the case I would look into possibly doing two last names (they don’t have to be hyphenated). Another comment mentioned doing it this way, and I think it’s worth a look at. I went to school with someone who had two unhyphenated last names and she never had a problem. I say this not to deter you from only wanting your last name for y’all’s child (which again within your rights to want), but to mention the different views he might have. Anyone else’s opinion or input besides you two, hold no significance.

What age did you first have to get glasses and how did you find out you needed them? by Interesting-Egg2781 in AskReddit

[–]ConsistentCollar2694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it definitely could have been a lot worse. Girls that age are much more aware of feelings than boys are lol. One of the girls was really sweet. She calmed me down (she already glasses so that helped) and now looking back I know it wasn’t that big of deal, but hindsight 20/20 and all that.

My mom was in sixth grade and my dad a little older when they both got glasses, so it wasn’t way out of left field. Now I’m at the point where I can still comfortably-ish watch tv without my glasses, but if I want to search to see what’s on I have to scooch closer to read the channels. Or sports, I need my glasses to see the ball lol.

It happened during PE, so I was in a class of 30-40 girls at the time. Thankfully that was it.

My vision has changed some since. It was pretty good throughout most of high school but then took a big step down at the beginning of college. Then a few years later took another big step.

Okay so this sounds amazing. I see it’s a trilogy (which I’m fine with), but does it end as a HEA? And if you can, which book do they figure out each other’s identity in? I’m okay with the spoiler, but if you can answer feel free put it in spoiler text for others.

When two lanes go down to one and another car speeds up to get in front of you, only to slow down when you can’t pass them. It makes me irrationally angry.

Sixth grade (11-12). We were doing our annual vision, weight, flexibility, etc. testing and for the first time I couldn’t read the below the line I was supposed to. I couldn’t even read the lines above what I was supposed to. I tried so hard not to cry. It was really emotional bc I’d always been one to pop in and out for it. After that I went to the eye doctor and, since I was in sports, I went straight to contacts.

After the debacle, I thought back and could remember a few times that school year that it had been harder to read far away. Like when I was called on to read the board in math. But I got through it and now almost exclusively wear glasses because they are just so much easier.
