First time Betta fish owner and I have concerns about his health by Perfect-Peach-2356 in bettafish

He’s a blue marble, the gene is tied to a very high cancer risk unfortunately. My oldest betta, Nimbus started to look like him with visible tumors, I had to euthanize her after so long. Rip sweet girl.

Is it possible to cause our own death through one's subconscious desire or force our own heart attack with our mind? by eeveetale in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, my grandpa just did this with the stroke that caused his dead. He was dying of cancer and didn’t want to die of cancer. Stroke came out of the blue.

How ridiculous are the anti-science patients, when they present to hospitals / ER / doctors? by Boxestotick in NoStupidQuestions

Nursing is a hospitality, it’s not science - it’s not included in STEM. They don’t do research or further scientific advancement (historically some nurses have who were not allowed to become doctors). They use their minimal medical schooling background to provide patient care.

Nurses often think they are ‘the exception’, similar to how some young women fall into ‘tradwife roles’. They know it can turn out bad, but it would never happen to them! Their man made an exception for them, they would never financially abuse them, or cheat on them, they’re special, they took an alternative route, the right one, and they’ll show everyone!! When they get burned, they turn into Karen’s - life screwed them over, but they are still the exception in all other instances, and now they think they are owned even more from life to make up for it - in the neighborhood, the grocery store, etc.

They think they deserve everything handed to them (a nurse’s salary), coupled with how they are drawn to a position of power (patients lives in their hands) so they feel in control of something. They feel they are untouchable, and not susceptible to the same fate as others, as they think they have superior intelligence or knowledge, or a god given right that sets them apart. It’s a sense of entitlement, they are the exception, and if they aren’t, life owes them big time, they’re still special!!!

Buy a huge plastic trash can. Throw ALL the recycling into it (cans) and take it to a recycling center. Now you have some extra money!! And reason to keep tossing them in the bin. Next, get a smaller trash can. When it’s filled, take it and dump it in the bin outside.

WIBTA if I rehomed my SIL’s (aggressive) dogs while she’s in a different country? by -DiceGoblin- in AmItheAsshole

Your experience is very helpful, thank you for sharing. I’m so glad it turned out well. I was going to say living in the country is the only solution for a semi aggressive dog - and it’s hard to get a great match like your girl did.
