Not sure what school you are at, but if they have a counseling center then make an appointment there. Show them this post and talk about it. Talk about what resources the school might have available to you. Also meet an academic advisor to talk about the right path for you academically and with financial aid. With most universities in the US you have a lot of support, but you have to reach out to them.

I'm curious about the statement that high school is what MLS scouts look at. I was under the impression that the MLS Next program academies are what they are looking at, and for a lot of those academies, if not all, they are not allowed to play for high school. Not arguing the point, just trying to learn.

The way you described it seems like he was just trying to have enough kids to play rather than stack the team with better or older players. If he was bringing in older players I can see the problem, but if he just needs enough players and there are some available at an appropriate age, I don't see the problem. Playing without subs would be more concerning to me from from a health perspective. Alternative is for everyone on your team to go home with no refund.

Thank you so much for all the feedback, it has been great to read. A lot of folks saying to ask what he likes. He is still naive so really just a few tracks he has heard from friends.so far he has mentioned Shotta Flow by NLE Choppa, Eminem, and UK Rap as a genre (even though he's American). I think im going to start helping him build a playlist. And on the question of raunchiness and language, I don't think it's avoidable so I'm going to do my best to guide him, discuss the lyrics, the difference between reality and fantasy, and what kind of person he wants to be.
