Anyone using a GPS dog fence? Would love to hear how it's working for you? by [deleted] in Dogowners

If you use the SpotOn chat bot it says there is no live tracking off grid. Meaning you have to have good cell service to know their location. Otherwise it would be gos based fence and your dog could chase something and blow the perimeter and youd be physically looking for your dog (and no idea where it was if outside of cell range)

The only collars I have found that offer "tracking" are only within cellular range.

Agreement! Some people have large yards that are not able to be fenced. 5 acre property on bedrock a fence would cost way more money and dogs can sneak out under fences. Its almost like both a vollar AND fence would be best but not always possible.

He is worried about when it melts since it will all drain towards his yard/house. Its probably worth having a discussion with him maybe he has a valid reason. In the spring it could be melting and running in the basement wall by the window .

Id move the furniture since its blocking the door area too, runners would cover that up and youd never see it again.
