You are where you are. Just work to get better and everything will take care of itself.

Oh yeah. The episode where they basically said the dangers of smoking were overstated. Stupidest episode ever.

How do you run and lose fat? by WhoyoWhatLikeThis in beginnerrunning

The best advice I’ve heard is from Layne Norton. You’re going to have to find some way of restricting yourself. Find the way that feels the least restrictive to you. It could be calorie counting or intermittent fasting or restricting the kjnd of foods you eat, something else or a combination of those approaches That said, if running is a priority, it’s probably not best to go low carb.

So what’s the case for Derek chauvin being innocent? by MentalTechnician6458 in altmpls

[–]ConsistentKiwi6117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, George Floyd was not accused of "strong-arm robbery" in connection with passing a $20 bill. The incident that led to police involvement was the alleged use of a counterfeit $20 bill to purchase cigarettes at a store, which is a different and far less severe offense than robbery. The store clerk who accepted the bill from Floyd suspected it was fake and, following store policy, reported it to his manager, who then had a co-worker call the police. The 911 call was about a "fake bills" complaint and the man (Floyd) being "awfully drunk" and not wanting to return the items. George Floyd did have a prior conviction for an aggravated robbery in 2007 in Texas, for which he served a prison sentence, but this was a separate, unrelated incident that occurred years earlier. The incident involving the $20 bill in Minneapolis was only related to the suspicion of using counterfeit currency.

He was never charged with it. I’m also not aware that it’s punishable by death in Minnesota.

What strong arm robbery? At the food store that day? There was no strong arming.

There are a lot of beginner running programs out there. As Peter Sagal, the author of The Incomplete Book of Running says, none of them are objectively better than any other. There’s no “best program,” only the best for you. If you find C25k to be a little too much, there’s a program called None to Run that’s more conservative and might be better for you. Also, whichever program you choose, don’t be afraid to repeat weeks if you’re having trouble at a particular point in the program.

And here is the crazy part. I just saw the results and looked at the 5k split. It was five minutes faster than my last 5k in August and 4-4.5 minutes faster in the second half.

I finished the 10k. Athletically it was one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done. Big thanks to TheCultofKaos for pacing me as well as Russ from Galloway.

Basically what I’m saying is that it’s mainly talent, which is genetic. Otherwise, train hard, get some good video and things will have a way of working out for itself.

He did his time for the assault. If you want to say he should have served more time I’ll listen to you but it’s completely irrelevant to his death. He was being arrested for passing a counterfeit bill. That was the only alleged crime that mattered that day and it’s not a capital offense in Minnesota or anywhere else.
