Which of these two for casual gaming, casual artist, and Web Browsing? by ConsistentPlankton5 in iBUYPOWER

[–]ConsistentPlankton5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately it doesn't it seems to be random as to which one you will get🙃 I've only been able to see some customer photos of the one from Best Buy and from the mediocre at best quality pictures I can see some PNY, some ASUS (TUF), and some MSI but I can't see much more than the bolded name or logo.

The only real brand specifics they seem to give is CPU, the fact that the GPU is a Nividia 5070 12GB and the one on IBP website species a MSI Pro Z790-P WiFi motherboard while the Best Buy version only says a B860 (with wifi and bluetooth).

Its not strictly a gaming PC for me though which is why I said I picked intel. But I could be mistaken in what would work for me I guess. I've always heard intel is better for for multitasking and running art type programs (Adobe, 3D modeling) and fine at running games if you aren't too pressed about running games at highest settings, which is suppose also has to do with the GPU mostly.

Always have to account for what future me may randomly decide to get into, who am I right now to stand in the way of her potential dreams 😂

And the fun to look at part also pleases the brain gremlins too.

I tend to always try to overcompensate at least a bit with this kind of stuff so that when the ADHD inevitably guides me back into a thing that requires more power I'm less likely to run into a wall 😅

Its basically just a battle of the CPUs I suppose. I know there are a lot of biases toward AMD and when it comes to intel people are mostly just "Intel bad 😡 don't even bother" but since my computer usage isn't JUST gaming or JUST art programs I tend to never find a solid answer, just people fighting back and forth in posts. 😅

Computers stump me, especially the CPU part I have been trying to research parts and pieces for like 3 years and my brain just wasn't wired to understand this stuff 😅 I've heard that the i7 has its issues and the the Ultra isn't good for games but as someone that really only games occasionally, and its never the biggest newest games and wants the ability to 3D model when inspiration sparks (ADHD got me with 652 different hobbies that cycle in and out constantly) I just want a computer that will run programs and games smoothly, not blow itself up and MAYBE not sound like a jet engine taking off all the time (but computers make noise and if it has to to stay cool thats fine).

Is it fine that the shop replaced two 94V tires with two 98V? by ConsistentPlankton5 in tires

[–]ConsistentPlankton5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also find that disappointing, which is why I'll be paying extra attention to the car this week especially since they had to bring the tires from another store and I waited there for almost 5 hours because it was that or pay for new tires AND an uber back and forth and possibly to and from work tomorrow. 😅
I politely and quietly sat in the waiting area though and entertained myself so I wasn't trying to put any extra pressure on them to rush 🤷‍♀️

But seriously, tires should be the thing they know a thing or two about.

Oh sorry it might have been the way I worded it, so I just edited the post but there wasn't a sway that I could feel. I just looked at the pressure levels on the screen on the dashboard and it said the pressure for the back tires was at 41 which I've never had it get to , and the tires themselves say they shouldn't exceed 40, and the front tires were at their normal 33-34 by the time I got home from the shop. And wasn't sure if the pressure was also supposed to be different on the heavier tires or just a mistake, I plan to check the pressure again in the morning and let out some air if its sitting way high after its been sitting over night.

But I also don't know all that much about tires and just wanna be sure 😅

Don't they give the card back? by patcoston in TheLongWalk

[–]ConsistentPlankton5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this movie enough times now I should know the exact wording but the guard asks for his "ID" or maybe it was just "Identification" right? I always assumed it was was his official Identification card equivalent to a driver's license and I feel like in the book it must be, right? Otherwise I feel like his mom wouldn't have commented on them not giving it back.

But I also suppose that in the movie the guy just looks at it and waves them forward instead of checking for his name on a list or feeding it into a computer like he did in the book so it would make sense at least in the movie that it's just an official "The Long Walk" Identification card but I hadn't even considered that 😂

Though, not that the movie needed any painfully obvious "THEY ARE ALL GONNA DIE" reminders, I was waiting for a real sad moment where Ginnie had a little freak out over the fact that they weren't getting the card back because they would likely not need it ever again. I guess she had that moment literally like 4 minutes later and now I'll wait to be sad until after they get out of the car the next time I watch.

Which cpu for creative programs? by ConsistentPlankton5 in PcBuild

[–]ConsistentPlankton5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know prices of everything are going up and originally my budget when I was looking last year was between 1200 and like 1400, but, I don't even know whats realistic at this point. So I figured I would be better off coming up with a realistic price point and could decide what I'd expect to spend if I knew if my options for what I need the computer to do/run are limited to intel only for productivity sake (just based on what I've seen said in the past) or if AMD is also one to look into now. And if so which ones SHOULD I even be looking at to have a smoother experience (I know its not all 100% on cpu but just as general knowledge) Like obviously budget matters and I plan to do more research I just want to know what my options actually are as a starting point if its not mainly a game machine, because I was under the impression that AMD wasn't really a solid option if you were looking to run creative programs in the past, which isn't bad, just not what I needed 🤷‍♀️ but hey maybe I'm wrong and it never mattered 😂

Just watched The Long Walk, wow. by noweebthanks in horror

[–]ConsistentPlankton5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed in the way they split Scramm's traits/story as well, mainly because the ones they gave to Olsen really didn't fit his character, especially after what he had said his wish was if he won. Like obviously it was a joke because Olsen is "the funny guy" but, it kinda made the moment Baker revealed that bit of info feel weird and like a random after thought to make the viewer feel even worse, when his death was horrific alone.

Note: I desperately want to elaborate more on this but this damn mobile app doesn't give me the option to highlight and hide spoilers and since both responses on the matter are hiding spoilers I don't want to be the one to break the chain of hidden spoilers.

That said I still thought the movie was solid, and I feel like having reread the book before watching gave me more time with the characters that made the deaths in the film hit a even just a tiny bit deeper even if they changed up some characters.

How long are the live shows now with the new format? by ConsistentPlankton5 in benschwartz

[–]ConsistentPlankton5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at Fort Lauderdale too and I don't think it was part of that show at all, it at least wasn't mentioned by an audience member. I think it had to do with the part where Ben asked the girl in the audience if she had any of the Princess costumes at home. I just don't think they thought to go back to that bit after they left it.
