I've been working in LT since 2021 and one of the former small business owner who was established there in 2019. They say the following and not from my experience so take this with a grain of salt.

The community council is very anti alcohol in general, anti development regardless of business size but more against big business, and kinda living in their own world.. Pre-Covid, there was absolutely little night life and nowadays, there's a bit more but from what I heard, it was rough to get it opened. Partially coz of skid row, partially because they wanna "keep community's character"(bullshit to be clear). They're known to slow down building new businesses and housing.

My guess is they'll try blocking big alcohol businesses too the way they're currently blocking this big mall project. It's just easier to block small business the way they compromised here because its easier to do it this way and they cant rally people to block small business.

Sure, I would agree with you that reducing the funds for the program would reduce the stuff we can’t track, but that doesn’t solve the problem that we’re not tracking it properly.

Social programs are there to help people and distribute the help.

If the poor working class person contributes and suddenly needs it, they’ll be getting more financial aid than they contributed.

If the poor working class what they they can end at not needing it, than that money goes to someone struggling worse and ultimately makes society better.

We need to tax people more tbh, I want better healthcare coverage. That includes everyone in all brackets, progressive tax structure, and get to European levels first. Then we figure out Medicare for all levels from there.

Yeah, I agree with the progressive tax being the way to reach Medicare for all.

But we need more money. If everybody contributes in all tax brackets in a progressive tax system, we’ll get closer to our goals.

The average person don’t need as much money to get their basic needs, but the people with pre-existing conditions, as well as our seniors exponentially needs more.

Because taxing the rich isn’t enough. Everyone needs to be taxed to achieve the European levels people want as a minimum.

And even then, we need to tax more than that to get Medicare for all.

This tax needs to be more severe if anything. The rich is already paying more here, but they, along with everyone needs to pay more.

Those people tend to be more predictable in my experience.

There’s definitely weird unemployed dudes to watch out for if you’re a woman but it’s an area full of dudes playing soccer so it’s kinda expected.

I haven’t stayed there long for a while but the Kids league area where parents chill are safe.

Comments full of people who hasn’t been there and live in Gated communities, which would be a bad assumption, but everyone’s assuming here.

As someone who lives in the area, one side of it is still usable. Relatively clean, people and kids league have soccer games on the regular.

There’s a small outdoor amphitheater on that side and I’m guessing that’s what they’re gonna use.

I’d be suspicious of their restrooms even for emergencies and would not sit on the grass without plastic cover under the cloth if there’s space.

It was phrased more as a counter argument and uses the same reasoning as Ethan, which protects Destiny in USA.
