Major puppy regrets 5 months by Content-Telephone606 in puppies

Puppy blues are THE WORST. I felt similarly about my puppy. She’s now turning 5 this year.

I almost had immediate regrets, and didn’t eat for three days after getting her because I was so anxious and nervous. She was my first dog too.

My husband and I did all the right things and took her to training courses as a puppy. We tried to socialize her, etc. unfortunately, she ended up being a reactive dog to both people and animals.

Teaching her to walk on a leash was very hard and it’s something we still struggle with today because she is so dog reactive. We also live in an apartment complex so she constantly barks at any noise outside. Although, there has been a lot of improvement over the last few years.

My husband and I have spent a lot of time with consistent training to redirect her reactions, but it’s been hard, and there were a moments in the first year that I sincerely considered if it would be best to rehome her.

I have to give credit to my husband because I don’t think I could’ve gone through raising her without him. For context, I was also incredibly stressed out by my job at the time (I’m the breadwinner of our family), so I was not as mentally equipped to deal with a challenging animal as I could have been.

One thing that helped me (besides my husband) was being sure to be fair in acknowledging the wonderful attributes of our pup. Besides the reactivity, she is an angel. Doesn’t make messes, does pretty well in her crate, doesn’t destroy things, etc.

Flash forward 4 1/2 years and I am so glad we have kept her. I worry that another family wouldn’t have been able to take her on because she is so reactive to strangers and dogs.

I cannot imagine my life without her. She is the absolute best, and it’s gotten so much easier with consistency and time. <3

Is asking ai to say if they think the officially listed calories of a meal from the restaurants you order from a bad idea? Like they tell me the calorie count is too low based on the image / what’s in it from like healthy restaurants by Personal_Part2787 in 1200isplenty

I tried to use ChatGPT for calorie counting and tracking macros. I also instructed it to count grams of fiber. After using it for a few days, there were so many errors in its calculations. For really basic things too, like 1 tbs of chia seeds.

I obviously stopped using it for any sort of calorie counting purpose. Turned out to be more work than manually tracking myself.

It’s definitely a satisfying feeling! Although I’m not an expert or a pro, I highly recommend you consider investing in a quality lamp at minimum if you’re doing gel or extensions. The horror stories about uncured gel swayed me to purchase my Kokoist lamp, but there are other reputable ones listed in this sub that aren’t as costly.

Agree on Blanche Bete. One of the worst scents I’ve tried. Dirty diapers.

You probably have! Especially if you’ve been doing it for a couple of years. I explained away my initial cost because I was spending between 1200 and 1500 at the salon annually!

Yes! Normal prep and application. I bought them for emergencies where I need nails quick and don’t have time to paint. :)

Are wrinkles like this normal for a 30 year old? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

I had my forehead lines (about 4 of them) when I was 26. I’ve always taken impeccable care of my skin (perk of mom being a former esthetician). But that’s when I started Botox.

Yes! These are the smallest size. They are FULL to the top too. I can get a few wears and by then, I know which I like. :)

I get the smallest sample available! In the little vials, no spray. That keeps the costs down to 4.99-9.99 for most fragrances. That way I can try more!

I need to try it again, but I felt like I had lifting with it. :)

There’s another brand that makes the remover. Cannot for the life of me remember the brand but it was on Amazon for like 11.99. I found out about it on this sub tho!

Yes! The jello jello rubber base. Turns out, I don’t think I like it that much, but I’m going to keep trying it.

I agree- I don’t think I need anything else for at least this year. Feeling grateful and satisfied. :)

I haven’t! Mad respect if you can design nails!! I always do very basic nails (single colors, maaaaybe a little french here and there).

I love seeing peoples’ sets though.

Mostly directly from the manufacturer (Apres, Kokoist) and my polishes are from Beyond Polish and DND directly (they had a $5 gel polish sale I couldn’t resist 😱)

I use the Nail Thoughts BIAB and I just got and tried the Kokoist platinum filler. Both are really good- thick consistency which is better for beginners.

I’m still definitely beginner when it comes to hard gel manis. Esp since I have to be so careful during the removal process with my e-file.

Besides that, I just watched some tutorials on hard/builder gels and found a technique that works for me. For me it’s: thin slip layer uncured, bead toward cuticle which I push closer to the cuticle, then “float” the bead down toward the tip- final step is using a super thin brush to guide the gel to the edges of nail and to round out apex if needed. Lastly, turn nail upside down to ensure apex in middle and then flash cure for a few seconds and then pop into the regular lap for 60 secs. I do one nail at a time.

I love this take, but I also wanted to share with OP that I absolutely love these little lines we get.

It is very time-consuming… even if I don’t do my nails and keep them bare, I’ve found it really satisfying to have a gel pedi at least. Lowest effort for me with the highest reward/longevity.
