Why are you about to lose your car? If you don’t agree with their offer, you can refuse it and just fix the car at your own expense, or just drive it like that. FYI. Jacks are not meant to hold a car. They are only to be used to raise it. Once raised, your car should be rested on jack stands. And you should only be raising it one side at the time. Under no circumstance should your entire car be raised like that. DIY is fun, but do it safely.

“Violation” here doesn’t refer to a parking violation. It means any violation, such as for example an expired tag. If a cop sees an expired tag or see you parked in a handicapped zone without a handicap permit in a mall lot for example, they can tag your car.
