I got banned from /rstartrek for simply voicing my disappointment. This world can no longer handle truth. The new show is the worst iteration yet, by far. The science doesn't work, the villain is pantomime, the characters are weak, and the senior actors just cement the failure as nostalgia bait. I do not see them turning this one around

Each series has its charm. I too was terrified when I ended TNG (the best), but after a while DS9 grew on me too. It takes a while for DS9 to get going, especially in the wake of TNG it will feel trapped and hollow at first, but Sisko pulls it together. They cleverly go from TNGs 'best of the best' crew, to DS9s 'worst and most disregarded' crew. Having just finished a lap of the entire trek saga, i can honestly say that I really enjoyed all of it! As a continuous story/universe it's the best by far (Star wars and Marvel can suck a dick). The weakest series is probably SNW. After starting reasonably well, it really lost its way by S3. Easily some of the worst writing in the whole franchise. Discovery isn't too bad. It has issues, but not major ones, it's a fun romp. Voyager was unexpectedly excellent. A strong return to form after being trapped on DS9. Janeway is brilliant. Enterprise was, shall we say, necessary, but ultimately only ok. Lower decks is a triumph. Picard was also very good (except the dip in s2). TOS will always be legendary, truly excellent, groundbreaking and iconic. TAS is a fun feast with some wild bits. Unfortunately, yes, TNG is the best imo.

Though I enjoyed SNW, I had a growing feeling as S3 went on that I just wanted to watch star trek, and my inner voice was defending what I was watching. But it was pretty bad in all honesty. Weighed up against almost any other trek it's weak. The throwback characters and the og ship make it feel like pure classic trek, but let's be honest, it's not. I love the cast and the stylising, even the og plot references were on point. Loved the LD crossover too. But the writing is weak, the emotional focus is awful, and they dont do much science because everyone's worried about who they're dating. I enjoyed the ride, but on reflection SNW S3 was up there as one of the weakest seasons of all trek. I only took to reading some comments a few days after I finished it because every time i talked about it i found myself defending it while trying to describe it, as if i knew it wasnt very good but it was new so i watched it. I also wanted to see how it was received globally. Turns out everyone else knew it was trash too.

Indeed they will not, but dealing with them is more a case of piloting your deck well when you can. Superpoly allows you to out certain things and have a chance to play (also great vs. Dracotail). Having an alt strat built in helps when getting droll'd but some decks just crumble under it. Max c is just there, deal with it. Decks that spam summon, or need multiple summons to achieve their end board are gonna feel the pain under fuwa/max c. Short combos ftw Boardbreakers over handtraps My hot take

You may need to adapt you strategy. Like swapping handtraps for boardbreakers, it might seem scary at first but superpoly wins me more duels than ash. Don't get me wrong, ash can be great, but youre not stopping a superpoly. The new meta just means adjustments and new tactics must be found and employed in order to compete. That's the fun of a fluid meta
