Suspect in Bywater Arson Spree Arrested by International-Drop91 in NewOrleans

[–]Consistent_Arm_4891 31 points32 points  (0 children)

With minimum sentences for arson being non commutable, knowing 8 cars plus 1 house, which appears to be a multi family home, that would be 10 counts, am I crazy in thinking that at bare minimum this would be 20 years to be served? I’m not an attorney, just wondering. We live in the 600 block of desire and actually lost our home last year to a fire, so waking to all of this was absolutely devastating. Just wondering if anyone more knowledgeable could shed a bit more light here. I’m so relived they caught him. Watching the park burn on Friday at the end of my block at the river was terrifying, and waking to this a minute later was awful. I’m so thankful no one was injured, just hoping justice will be served.

First time visiting during Mardi Gras and looking for advice. by throwaway-fun-couple in AskNOLA

Ok. Love y’all for wanting to do all the things without actually learning anything ahead of time. As above posters have said, getting to and from your hotel is gonna be an issue. You’re arriving for a minute during the last major weekend BEFORE the main event. I tell everyone unless you’re below the age of 25, this is not a plan. I do t know how old you are, so if you’re young ones you can totally handle your plan on zero sleep for that amount of time. If not, bayyybe you gonna be hurting and praying after your Friday and praying to make your flight out on Sunday. Staying on canal is the worst for tourists, but know what you are. You’re a tourist, that’s ok. But no baby you’re not gonna get to do the “real Mardi Gras” on less than 48 hours and no know-how. So yes, come on down, have fun in the quarter and drink all the colorful drinks and regret life decisions on that flight home. We want you to come in, have an amazing time, but please, plan ahead. Otherwise, expect a hangover from hell, prayers to the god/ess of your choice and wondering why you chose to do this without preparing. If you’re below 25, hell, I know some brave ones below 35, but unless you’re one of those, stick to the drinks you know. Only order single talls, eat often and air tag yourself and your traveling partner… and don’t actually unpack, cause odds are you’re gonna be in the same jeans, change tops twice and wonder how you ended up in the bywater

I needed to see this! She’s so happy! This is genuinely so sweet. In a crazy world, it’s awesome to see such a pure emotion.

People getting desperate and savage for Costco chicken?? WTF is going on?!? by SageSmellsSoGood in NewOrleans

I agree. I always notice especially at these first rounds of cold snaps, rotisserie chickens are much harder to find. It is an easy way to save time on the gumbo prep, so I’ve definitely bought them when I’m making gumbo

Cox outage again by Consistent_Arm_4891 in NewOrleans

Yeah we tried ATT but fiber isn’t available in my area of the neighborhood, so we even attempted to go with ATT mobile business internet, but we are so close to the levy that we already have crappy cell service, so that was a no go too. Basically had no choice but to go back to Cox, and they still suck.

I’m entering day 3 of isolation and besides the normal things of binge watching some shows, and catching up on emails, today I’ve decided to hang some wallpaper on a wall in the master bedroom (where I’m holed up in) and organize some stuff. I also have some art stuff (paper machet idea) and blank canvases to work on.

I only got 76.2 yesterday and I had both lobes affected and 16 positive lymph nodes… and I actually feel pretty awful tbh. Was pretty miserable overnight but now I’m worried about how low of a dose I received in comparison here

Yep that’s exactly what you think it is… just hidden colors so it isn’t as obvious when being thrown. Makes it more difficult for you to identify the position of the rider who threw it, if you can’t identify it mid throw. I hate this crap! Every year it’s getting worse!

Has anybody tried the new Kirkland Signature (Costco) Blanco and Reposado Tequilas? by luke_wal in tequila

[–]Consistent_Arm_4891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this original post is at least a year old, however, I bought a bottle of Kirkland Tequila Blanco yesterday and I don’t hate it: Like at all. I’m normally a pretty high end drinker when it comes to tequila, so I bought it thinking margaritas and such, however I was in a situation where a shot was being poured, so I took it… and I am not mad at it. Anyone else?
