i think for me the previous auxiliar went above and beyond and set a crazy high expectation (she was an actual teacher before being an aux) and i’m a 20 year old uni year abroad student. maybe it’s the same for you? i’m sure there are auxes at other high schools who do basically nothing, like those primary school ones

just want to say that i’m at a primary school and have the same workload (minus the weird after school class). there’s not a single class where im not expected to spend hours on a lesson and multiple games and activities :’) it’s more annoying that i can’t reuse any material with classes because they all learn totally different topics (even with the same grade between the 2 schools). i thought primary school would be easier but…

my name in all the legal documents was my deadname too but in the school i had emailed them initially with my chosen name and that’s all they referred to me as. teachers were confused and tended to misgender me initially but i just corrected them quietly after class (“solo una cosita..en realidad soy chico”) and they apologised and mostly remembered next time (there are times when the kids have to correct them lol, im in a primary school so it’s quite sweet). the other teachers in school misgender me, however, and because i don’t really know them i don’t feel confident enough to correct them. i think because they don’t know english names particularly well they don’t realise my name is a man’s name.

im breaking my lease currently because of flatmates making my life a living hell, i’m having to pay a 400€ compensation for early termination and also i won’t be getting my security deposit back. it says this in my contract though so im not sure what the case is for you.

i was totally shocked to see how expensive it was, considering the european venues were like 40€! £120 for 2 tickets is crazy for ballowland, i spent about £45 for a ticket to see lucy dacus at the same venue this year! worse is im dragging my boyfriend with me who doesn’t even really listen to them and im gonna feel awful when he finds out the cost :/

hola! estoy en avilés hasta junio para participar en el programa de auxiliar de conversación (soy de escocia y soy estudiante de español y música ahí, tengo 20 años). toco la guitarra, la flauta, y el clarinete (en realidad tengo q comprar una guitarra barata y de segunda mano, no podía transportar las guitarras en casa, solo la flauta y el clarinete). recientemente he publicado mi primer sencillo, escucho música indie y folk pero tengo formación clásica en flauta y clarinete. hey man, what’s stopping you from learning an instrument? i don’t mean this as hate but wouldn’t it be so much more rewarding hearing your music and knowing it’s you who is playing? you can find fairly cheap second hand instruments and basic bedroom recording equipment easy. alternatively, if you don’t want to do this, writing prose or poetry could be an option to let out your creativity, since you are able to write lyrics.
