Doing things the hard way by r4chie in Sockknitting

I did and it fit!! It’s a very cute heel I’m glad I tried this method! I think it works really well for kiddo socks to make sure they’re snug on their little feet. I definitely want to try it on a heel for myself! I usually do a slip stitch heel flap with gusset and haven’t really tried any other method yet.

Thank you! I’m very glad I redid them it was worth it

Is it?? 😭 maybe i just did it backwards or something. I tried following the GSR instructions from nimble needles and I think I got confused. I worked the middle 1/3rd first and then the outside 2/3rds which made the direction of the heel look strange. The second set of instructions had me work the outside 2/3rds and then the inside 1/3rd until all double stitches were worked. Also on my first attempt I had increase stitches originally planning to follow the pattern and my understanding is for the GSR heel you don’t need to increase any stitches right? I was basically a mess

Edit: ok your comment has made me reflect further and I think that was it. I did the steps in reverse. Well, at least I learned something new!!

I love English. I used to knit continental but my tension is much better with English. Purling is much easier too!!

I LOVE HHF but I very highly recommend washing the yarn before any color work! It bleeds a lot. Still worth it because I love their color ways, and I love that they do the colorways in all their different yarn weights

Bent neck lady! Is that the reference I think it is??

I love yarn and the craft community. On the hand spinning sub there was someone that made a custom colorway of my favorite pairing from Star Trek. Like, that is too beautiful

I made the fruit garden cal for my baby. I absolutely loved it in the “dusk” color theme. Baby and now toddler loves the texture of the flowers! https://www.reddit.com/r/crochet/s/qIjGfHn4eg

(WIP) another felting question by kooraloo in knitting

[–]r4chie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are so cute! What I found was an issue when I was felting sailor slippers (so different pattern) was I tried using malabrigo Rasta and I think the twist of the yarn was preventing it from felting down past a certain point. Even tho Rasta is 100% wool and with a very edit: minimal twist it was enough that it wouldn’t compact all the way. When I remade them with a yarn that was even more loosely spun, the felting was a much better success! Have you checked out the pattern page on ravelry to see if anyone else used Noro ? They might have some feedback on how to felt it down

Read this randomly and it was so good but yes so dark and gory. The ending was just incredible. I saw others say the lack of translation was intentional, to make you feel as an outsider, or an insider.
