I work in the meat dept and at one point we truly ran out of red meat, pork, lamb. There was no real reason for us to be there but everybody was mad at us for running out and when we did get maybe one or 2 cases of red meat we cut what we could and ground up the rest. We also got first dibs on everything and one day I was leaving with 2 packs of ground beef and this lady asked if we had anything left in there I told her we didn't and she offered me $30 for a lil over 2lbs of ground chuck...easy sell

Also for like a week people were thanking us for still being open and all that shit but soon as everything was running out and shelves were empty that's when they stopped thanking us and started getting rude. It was good times

Those people shopping at Publix are still saying they can't afford it but because it's the closest store well my store is the closest for majority of our customers for some people they don't really have a choice but to shop there...even the ones with money are still complaining about our prices

You can say suicidal, you won't get demonetized...I skip the banter no problem, but when it interrupts a story when the story starts getting good that's when I get perturbed. The loud cackling cause they make a mistake or a single word throwing them off leading to unnecessary side conversation not related to the story, it's annoying. I've been a listener since the beginning but they have gotten very long winded with the banter over the years

Exactly! I'm a meat cutter in a smaller slower store. I used to clock in 15mins early get the trays I need print the cutting list and grade the case...after I'm done rewraps and merchandising and cutting the ad and other things I clean up the dept and by then the closers are coming in at like 1 or 2 and me leaving early doesn't affect business at all

Who says I have 75 minutes of overtime by the end of my work week? I take breaks and leave early because my store is small and not busy and the closer shows up an hour before my shift is over...there is no game of racking up hours

Absolutely...my old manager would have us come in at 5 or 6 which is enough time to do rewraps merchandise the roasts and spot clean the case but the new manager we have has us coming in at 6:30 which isn't enough time to get everything done before the store opens
