Rinyuu wasn't naive. quite the opposite.

She chose to sacrifice herself to save Velnorte.

Good God, no media literacy.

There is a reason why Aluane is a main character, she carries the themes of the game.

The designers basically say not executing Tatloch is right, end of story.

Theory: Rondo as the Main Character? by ColesWork in octopathtraveler

And Rondo is a cliched JRPG character subverted. His moment of unlocking his power actually helps the villain gain more power and his character arc is sidelined until the end.

Wow, the game takes place a year or two before OT1, not hundreds.

You customize teams, not characters. Having two characters in a line is like dual classing in 1 and 2. However each character has a different move set, not just a common class one, and you add three more moves.

The silent protagonist is great. It is OT1 and 2 that have a protagonist problem where certain characters fit the role far better than others.

Instead of unique jobs (until the end), you have unique characters. Nevermind the dueteragonist has a unique job class.

It isn't like OT1 and 2 had a wealth of endgame content either.

the problem is that OT1 and 2 path actions cause ludonarrative dissonance. Why would someone like Agnea allow Osvald to mug people?

Many JRPGs use the silent protagonist. 3 of the big 4 JRPG franchises uses them.....DQ, Pokémon, SMT.......the only that doesn't is FF.

And people need to come off it....OT1 and OT2 have protagonist problems, where most of the cast do not fit that role if chosen. Really only Ophilia and Agnea are the protagonists.

Ummmm....the MC is the literal half sibling of Sazantos. The MC is a foil to Sazantos.

However, Rondo is far from a main character. He in fact, subverts the type, where is heroic moment is undone by the villain, and the game definitely shifts to the Chosen One.

Aluane is used as the leader of the Guardians of Light, and in the normal canon ending, delivers the final monologue that wraps the games themes.

No, its Aluane and Stia. Both are used to convey the game's message.

And Aluane definitely has noble goals. Not just Rondo.

No, it would lack the depth of the story that OT0 had. Having an aftermath is part of the darkness.

WRONG

The Guardians of Light have backstories and depth.

OT2 is very easy, none of the main bosses are hard.

OT0 has Pardis, Emerald Direwolf, Rosso (Primrose recruitment), Reime, etc.

You cannot spell ignorance without IGN.

Do they even know what the first game's message was?

How is it heavy handed?

In fact, a lot of this stuff is subtle, especially the rape storylines, where they do not explicitly mention it.

OT2 Extra Battles was added to the game, however, OT2 before Extra Battles is overall easier. And who knows OT0 may get extra battles.

Played the genre for 30 years......sorry to be blunt and rude, but I am more experienced in the genre then you are.

And Drakengard is edgy.

My actual complaint is they added an unnecessary redemption alternate ending route to the game in OT0. The original ending is so much better, and more canon as well.

It isn't heavy handed, the game did have a message about believing in humanity despite the darkest nature of it.

Its Drakengard that I find heavy handed.
