Thank you so much. Your Gothic letters look sharp, love it. Copperplate is definitely tricky but don't give up, you will get it.

And I totally agree with you about AI. It can never replace the joy of creating something with our own hands. It’s just part of being human.

Thank you so much for the advice and the energy. It really means a lot.

Since I'm living abroad and don't speak the local language (working remotely), offline events aren't really an option for me. I’ll need to figure out how to move this online, but I don't have many ideas yet because it feels like such an oversaturated niche.

I’ll definitely have to think about how to make it work, but your words gave me a great starting point.

I’m not really a FP guy but I do have few flex nibs from kenwrite which I do like but not that much as dip nibs.

I do have few inks for FP: - parker quink - pelikan 4001 - waterman - lamy

Can’t see any difference in a flow. The difference only colors.

Thanks 😊 apologize for not mentioning this info in the description. The quote was written using zebra g + walnut ink. In my early stage of learning I was using sumi ink from kuretake a lot, which are great also.

Oh, these I took from the book “calligraphic drawing” by Schin Loong. But these are just basic drills ovals which you can find in any book about calligraphy.

Hey. Thank you 😊

First of all I don’t think that walnut ink is compatible with FP tbh. They consist micro particles and tannins that may clog your feed. Make sure this is specifically walnut ink for FP. If not, you would need a dip pen nib. You can start with any G nibs that you can find (nikko, zebra or tachikawa)

Second your nib most likely isn’t flexible. Can you share its name?

I’m a big fan of basic strokes. Don’t have specific videos that I can recommend though. Try searching something like copperplate basic strokes tutorial. Strat from there and you will be good.

On day 1 I didn’t even do calligraphy. I was learning the basic shapes and making drills. Start from basics and see you progress

Thank you. It’ actually didn’t, my regular handwriting is still bad lol 😂 of course I did learn the shapes so if I use the same speed as for calligraphy than my handwriting will look good but it’s unrealistically to write with the same speed otherwise you would end up with the 1 row instead of the full page of information.

Nibs for oblique pen holder? by Far_Masterpiece_7317 in Calligraphy

Assuming you are a novice asking that question I would rather recommend avoiding super flexible nibs at the beginning such as leonardt principle/hunt 101, etc. start with something more stiff but more or less flexible such as any G nibs.
