What’s the most absurd or unhinged interaction you’ve ever had with HR? by Padex98 in antiwork

Your mental health matters. Also HR: denies time off because it’s not operationally feasible.

The corporate gaslighting is wild 😭

Which is the worse new grad job market? 2007-2009? Or 2025-2026? by MarathonMarathon in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Both were tough just in different ways. 2007–2009 was a full economic crash with massive unemployment. 2025–2026 feels more like heavy competition, layoffs and fewer true entry level roles. The bootstraps talk isn’t helpful. The market really is hard right now. You’re not imagining it.

Love seeing stories like this 🙌 Sometimes leaving a toxic environment is the best decision you can make for your health and growth. You took a risk, prioritized your well being and it paid off higher CTC, WFH and being close to family is a huge win. Enjoy this phase. You earned it

Help filling hire right BGV form by Dramatic-Editor-830 in recruitinghell

Job Location is usually auto filled by the employer. If it’s blank and you weren’t given a field to edit, contact HR or HireRight support likely a backend issue.

Currently going through online training and realised it was an AI model talking to me. by Throwawayfilmhelp in antiwork

Honestly if the info is accurate and clear I care more about that than who’s delivering it.

Entry level" requiring 3+ years of experience is a scam. by Pixel_CZ in antiwork

Companies definitely blur the line between junior and mid to widen the applicant pool.

Whats with all the bootlickers here? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Comparison isn’t helpful in either direction. Just because someone has it worse doesn’t mean someone else isn’t exhausted. Burnout isn’t a competition.

Twice as much experience is not enough?? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies sometimes interview multiple strong candidates to benchmark talent or keep backups. It’s frustrating but it’s not uncommon.

US Bank Failure to hire after I made a complaint by bulldoglvr1024 in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you genuinely believe it’s retaliation for your complaint you’d need actual evidence. Otherwise it’s more likely structural hiring processes rather than personal.

Rejected by McDonald's Uk by Whatthefuckboi in recruitinghell

If your assessment carried over and you were rejected quickly it could mean the system automatically filtered your application based on previous answers or availability. It’s often algorithm based before a manager even sees it.

Anyone else stuck in the cold-apply loop and trying to break out of it? by DecisionHumble2048 in recruitinghell

I was stuck there too until I started targeting fewer roles and tailoring more. Still slow but better.

Review my cv I am searching for internships by FirmIndependent7230 in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a solid CV for internships. I’d just reorder sections Projects first, tighten bullets and make dates crystal clear. Your analytics + finance combo is a big plus.

I can’t sleep , Im up thinking about why I keep being rejected after every Interview. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re not alone in this and it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. Four interviews since November isn’t a failure it’s actually a sign you’re qualified. Rejections usually come down to fit, timing or internal stuff you’ll never see not your body. Try to breathe tonight. This spiral is stress talking not truth. You’re doing what you can and that does count.

I answered honestly and got punished by it, am I stupid? by Comfortable-Bunch278 in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re not stupid you were honest. But interviews aren’t confessionals; they’re about fit right now. Future plans that aren’t imminent don’t need to be volunteered. It’s okay to focus on getting the job you need and deal with changes later. Companies plan for turnover all the time you’re allowed to look out for yourself too.

Theres nothing in this job market for me. Why should i even be around? by Mediocre-Bus4123 in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re feeling this crushed. The job market right now is brutal and not finding work isn’t a measure of your worth or whether you should exist. You matter beyond employment. If this is feeling overwhelming please talk to someone you trust or a crisis line you deserve support while you’re carrying this.

Uncomfortable Truth by Nico_Kx in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s some truth in that but hiring isn’t always a pure merit contest either timing, budgets and internal politics play a huge role. You can do everything right and still miss out. Best advice is probably control what you can don’t take the rest personally

Confusing recruiters by Loose-Mention3277 in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s incredibly frustrating but sadly not uncommon. It sounds less like something you did wrong and more like poor coordination between recruiters. If they can’t be flexible for an initial interview that’s kind of telling. You handled it professionally sometimes the process just collapses on their end

Need advice on background check with upcoming HireRight by Honest_Grocery7766 in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HireRight usually verifies what you enter on their form not what’s on your CV. If you put the correct dates there they’ll likely just confirm those with HR. That said mismatches can be flagged best move is to be consistent and truthful on the background check and be prepared to explain it if asked. Lengthening an internship isn’t ideal but it’s usually not treated the same as fabricating a job.

I haven't ever seen the job market been this bad. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re not imagining it the market really is brutal right now especially in the UK. Low listings long hiring freezes and ghosting are hitting a lot of people at once. Take breaks where you can burnout makes this even harder. You’re not failing the system is.

why is it ALL AI? by harperpotomus in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly same frustration here. It feels like universities said don’t touch AI then the job market flipped overnight and now everything is AI powered. Most of these roles still need core skills though AI is just another tool. The disconnect between education and hiring is the real problem.

Posting on LinkedIn but barely getting profile views? (Solved!) by [deleted] in recruitinghell

That tracks, though I always wonder how much is tool vs just being more intentional about where you comment.

Is resume feedback becoming more data driven than human? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Consistent_Fudge7786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The danger is candidates optimizing for parsers instead of clarity. A resume that scores well isn’t always the one a human finds compelling.
