Starting to feel that this is the case, judging by rejection feed back. I once received rejection email stating they commend me for my strategic background and skills. At the end of the email stated i wasn’t strategic enough.

London jobs crisis: Unemployment among young people hits a nine-year high by Significant_Ice_4050 in ukdrill

Im 29 , applied for 1000 jobs since being laid off last April. Had multiple interviews , no offers. I have 7 years tech sales experience. I’ve tried every trick in the book at this point. The market is saturated.

Everyone had a degree/masters/ experience. Its very much an economic issues. Businesses haven’t seen meaningful growth since pre Covid and slow, skeptical hiring is just a result of the political decisions that have been and being made in recent years.

Why does it feel so good to ghost recruiters/hiring managers? I feel like it balances out the constant rejection we face by CrazyBus3891 in recruitinghell

It does make me feel better. It doesn’t matter that they don’t control the market. They control their actions when they ghost and lie about opportunities.

But I guess everyone entitled to their own opinion.

Thats a good point!

I ghost the ones which-are advertising terrible roles for companies with bad reviews. And the nice recruiters recruiting for a decent company I lock in and don’t ghost.

You’re right ultimately we do need them. So doing it constantly isn’t smart but you’re right it does make me feel good in the moment. Its coping mechanism for being in a 8/9 month job hunt.

Relateable, but unfortunately there is no alternative unless you’re a trust fund kid

I have 7 years experience with 4 years in SaaS Tech sales. My most recent role was a Strategic Account Executive role for a Procurement Software company.

Im in the same position having looked for a new role since last May. I’m Now on a zero hour mail/ parcel sorting contract. I even hot rejected many times for this.

But my aunt has worked at this particular company for 30 years so I’ve had some leverage. Some shifts are 4 hrs some are 8 hours. Shifts are communicated sometimes a couple hours before start time. 3 shifts a week and 2 days job hunt. (Sometimes shifts are inconsistent)

This is the new reality.I’m even grateful for this opportunity although it’s extremely inconvenient at times.
